Berkeley House – “Person of Color” Bans White People from Common Spaces

There’s no better way to fight racism than engaging in more of it. The Person of Color House is an area of off-campus housing for U.C. students. It’s featured in the most recent episode of “Woke discrimination”. Berkeley.

A Reddit photo showed the rules for having guests stay in the common areas of the house. The section entitled “Guests in Common Spaces” states: “Guests may enter common areas, but you should be aware if other house members are present.” Common spaces aren’t permitted for white guests (see intro ).”

In the introduction to the document, the POC House states that students moved to the house “to avoid white violence and presence.” Students are instructed that they should inform others if they bring a guest with low levels of melanin and announce this in an online chat.

But this is not the end.

To protect the weak and vulnerable students of minorities, these rules instruct that members “avoid bringing families that express bigotry and that Queer, Black and Indigenous members shouldn’t have to avoid common areas because of racist or homophobic parents/family members .”

The Person of Color Theme House is “a five-story, 30-room home that can accommodate up to 56 students,” according to The College Fix. The purpose of the house is to provide services for “low-income and first generation immigrant students of color .”

This isn’t the first controversy that the house has faced. A former member wrote a post on Medium in 2020 complaining that the house became known for its “call-out culture” that resulted from “the lack of intersectionality.”

” Several of the members were criticized for white/white passing or aligning themselves to whiteness or allowing white violence inside the house,” wrote the author.

But the plot thickens.

Apparently the Person of Color Theme House has denied that it follows a discrimination policy. The Berkeley Student Cooperative’s cooperative experience manager Stephen Ross told The College Fix that neither the BSC or the POC houses have an official policy that prohibits white people from sharing common areas.

“Whites can live and work in POC houses, but their main goal is to provide a supportive and safe environment for persons of color.” he stated.

Ross acknowledged that all the BSC house 20 have their own culture and practices that change over time. He also said that POC members try to ensure that whiteness isn’t “central” to members of house .”

Apparently, the University has had to deal with “racist, discriminatory comments made by ex-President Trump” along with police shootings of black men and “daily experiences in covert or overt racism .”

” While members of POC can’t avoid all kinds of racist experiences, they have the option to choose to stay in POC houses. “POC House gives members a safe place to express their feelings and feels supported in their daily lives,” Ross explained to The College Fix.

The struggle is real folks.

These children are so racialized that they must keep away from all white people, who most likely have a lot of racist tendencies. They believe that woke discrimination beats Jim Crow discrimination.

This is something I raise when discussing how the hard Left wants to brainwash people of color into being hypersensitive and mentally weak individuals that will not be capable of managing life after university. This is a way to make America resentful at every perceived insult. This is simply a means to create tension and problems in race relations.

I have likely experienced more racist incidents in my life that these children will ever experience. I would have witnessed more racism in my family. This would have been worse for their parents. The reason America has been making steady progress is that it is not perfect. It would not have occurred to me, or any other black people I knew when I was in college that we would need a separation from whites or others of a different race.

But now the “woke crowd” encourages such stupidity. This is making us all softer. This example of progressivism will, as with many others, only make these people of color feel worse than help them.
