Director, actor, and longtime Democrat activist Rob Reiner was incredulous at the notion that the media censored coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in the run-up to the 2020 election-a fact which is no longer in dispute.
Reiner’s comments came during a discussion Friday on HBO’s “Real Time” when host Bill Maher mentioned the recent controversy surround author Sam Harris’ claims on a podcast that the media and big tech were justified in censoring the story of Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” during the 2020 election in order to stop Donald Trump’s re-election.
” They were discussing the Hunter Biden laptop, which was a story,” Maher stated about the Sam Harris podcast conversation. It was true , and all of the mainstream media has accepted it
“Let’s not get in the way of this,” Maher said. “[Hunter Biden] was trying to sell the power of Joe Biden. I mean, most political sons do. We can’t pretend it wasn’t happening. I mean, some guy from China gave him–after a dinner–an $80,000 diamond after dinner.”
“So Hunter Biden’s computer was found by the media,” Maher said. Even Jack Dorsey (head of Twitter) said it was a mistake. They buried the story because they remembered what happened with James Comey and the letter 11 days before the 2016 election. Comey stated that Hillary Clinton must be reopened the email probe. It was, and it was likely. She ran a terrible campaign, did not go to Wisconsin. We know that. But this was most probably what sunk her .”

Maher said, “So Sam Harris believes it appropriate that Twitter, the heads and heads of major tech, and journalistsic organizations, feel they were in the midst of a once-in a lifetime moral emergency. This is Trump. He’s saying that it is okay to conspire to remove someone as evil as Trump. This is a tricky question, because once you get down the road, this is kind of where we are now in this country. The other side of this coin is so corrupt that any attempt to stop them taking office is justifiable. Is it ?”

Reiner stated, “No. You know what is not justified?” To use armed violence in an attempt to murder people at the Capitol. It’s wrong .”
“Was burying the Hunter Biden story appropriate?” Maher asked again.
” Reiner asked.
“[Sam Harris] says that this is what they did. And this is what they did. Because they couldn’t risk Trump’s election being thrown at them, Maher stated that they had buried Hunter Biden’s story.
” And we know for certain that this is what they did?” Reiner inquired.
“Of course! Maher replied, “You don’t follow that.”
” You know that this is what they did. Reiner stated that he didn’t know the details of what they did.
” I know, because you only see MSNBC,” Maher said to the crowd. This brought out laughter.
” No, this is not true. Reiner insists that this is not the truth.
“Well then, you would know all about it,” Maher stated.
” I know that. Yes, I know that. Reiner reiterated that he does watch Fox. But the important point is that we’re going now to show the media played, you understand, tried to -“
” They’re admitting that!” Maher interjected.
” The press admits it?” Reiner was incredulous.
“It’s not an issue anymore! Maher responded. They’re saying that we did it because they didn’t want to see this throw the election .”

Indeed. It is well-documented that media and tech suppressed news coverage about Hunter Biden’s laptop scam by calling it Russian disinformation and blocking the sharing of the New York Post story that broke the “laptop from Hell” scandal.
Now, almost two years after the election, every major media outlet has recognized the legitimacy of the laptop.
Just last week, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook admitted to Joe Rogan that the FBI had warned Facebook about a “dump of Russian propaganda” just before the Hunter Biden “laptops from hell” story was published. Zuckerberg said that the FBI did not specifically identify the New York Post s “laptop-from-hell” story, but the vague warning could have provided Facebook and other tech giants the cover they needed to prevent access to Hunter laptop stories via social media. This was likely aided by the fact that more than 50 former intelligence officials-led by Obama-era Director of National Intelligence James Clapper-signed an open letter in October 2020 alleging that the New York Post’s story was “Russian disinformation” even if the laptop’s emails were real.
The Hunter Biden scandal is now the subject of a new narrative film My Son Hunter, which marks Breitbart’s expansion into film distribution. This is the story the established media didn’t want America to hear.
The film’s director Robert Davi (Licensed to Kill, Die Hard, The Goonies) described My Son Hunter as “the laptop exploded onto film.”

Davi took to Twitter Sunday morning to respond to Reiner’s ignorance of the media’s role in censoring the Biden scandals in the run-up to the 2020 election.

” I’ve only met Rob Reiner once,” Davi stated. He’s an excellent director and a skilled gentleman. His work as director is very admirable. While we disagree politically on many issues, some of the issues are very contentious. What we need to do is find common ground in truth .”

Davi said: “We must admit, Rob,” that Bill Maher has stated that the New York Times claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was a lie to win an election. Rob, you must admit it. Rob. It’s bad .”
“And that you were Meathead,” Davi said, in reference to Reiner’s role in the iconic TV show All in the Family .. You’re very in touch with American citizens. However, I can understand the ivory tower. That is what I know. It’s time to get back down to Earth .”
