Mark Zuckerberg: Facebook suppressed Hunter Biden laptop story per FBI general request

Mark Zuckerberg admitted Thursday that Facebook had suppressed Hunter Biden’s laptop story prior to the 2020 elections. This was based upon a request by the FBI.

The founder and CEO at Facebook, Joe Rogan said that the phone call occurred shortly after the New York Post published the computer report that revealed the questionable foreign business dealings that were being conducted by the son-in-law of President Biden.

Mr. Zuckerberg described the FBI alert like this: “Hey just to make sure, you should be high-alert… there was lots of Russian propaganda during the 2016 elections. It appears that there is a dump similar to this. Be vigilant .”

Within days of the now-validated blockbuster, several Democratic-leaning intelligence officers and analysts declared publicly that the laptop looked like a Russian disinformation dump.

Earlier in the week, Senator Ron Johnson (Wisconsin Republican) told Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, that FBI officials had told agents, according to whistleblowers not to examine information on Mr. Biden’s older laptop.

The social media kingpin admitted to Mr. Rogan Facebook began to use its algorithms to restrict the story’s reach and put it lower in People’s NewsFeed. He defended this practice, noting that it was a different path from Twitter which had completely censored Post reporting.

” Fewer people saw it that would have otherwise,” Zuckerberg said to Mr. Rogan.

The podcast host asked quickly “by how much ?”

?”

” I don’t have the answer, but I know it is meaningful,” Mt. Zuckerberg responded.

Facebook chose to believe the FBI, and take it at its word.

” The FBI is still a valid institution in this nation. It’s also a professional law enforcement agency. They come to us, tell us to be vigilant about something, and then we take it seriously.” he stated.

When Mr. Rogan asked if the FBI had “specifically” stated “to be on guard regarding that story”, Mr. Zuckerberg responded with an unemphatic denial.

“No. I can’t recall if that was the case, but it fit the pattern,” said he.
