Fauci: “I Didn’t Shut down Anything” –

.

The outgoing director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, stated Tuesday that he wasn’t responsible for COVID shut downs.

Host Neil Cavuto stated, “It was clear that you had admitted, doctor, several times on this program, that although your reaction to COVID may not have been flawless, it was in light of the time and speed in which they were made. Looking back on some of these decisions (including masks), you first opposed them, then adopted them. This was due to the severeness of the epidemic and the complete shutdown of virtually all of America’s economy. Are you sorry for the shutdown? Some claim it made matters worse ?”

Fauci said, “No, I don’t, Neil. In fact, we should make sure your listeners know that I did not shut down any of the devices. The White House Task Force was very aware that hospitals in New York City, and elsewhere were becoming overwhelmed. When Dr. Birx suggested that we wait 15 days, we would essentially slow down and shut down some of the systems. We didn’t close down the doors, as evidenced by our records. If you remember correctly, we wanted to create a pause to flatten the curve .”
