Colorado School District directs staff to address children by choosing gender

Colorado’s Thompson School District has made national headlines for its handling of confused children. It urged schools to respect a child’s choice gender and to accept any mental or medical diagnosis.

The reachs Loveland in Colorado and has five pages of guidance that outlines how schools, teachers, and staff should deal with students who are transgender.

According to guidance (which admits it doesn’t cover all possible issues) any student may tell staff members that they would like to identify themselves by their gender. According to school district guidance, students can request that staff members address their requests “respectfully” regardless of their medical condition.

” The school will accept each student’s gender identity; there is no mental or medical diagnosis that must be met in order for students to have their gender identity recognised and respected.” This guidance clearly states that schools are to respect the wishes of children who mistakenly identify as another gender.

“Students who are ready to transition socially may request that the school change their pronoun and allow them to access programs, activities and facilities in line with their gender identity.” The guidance says.

While it acknowledges that parents are important, the guidance says that students should first be informed about their participation.

Emphasis added:

School personnel should involve parents or guardians in the implementation of these guidelines and the process of social transition at school to support the student’s well-being at school, but should first discuss the parental involvement with the student to avoid inadvertently putting the student at risk of harm by contacting the student’s parents.

The guidance also urges schools “reduced or eliminated” all activities that discriminate by gender in order to avoid confusion. Schools are also instructed to permit children to go to the bathroom that matches their gender identity, not their biological sex.

“Any student who is transgender and who has a need or desire for increased privacy, regardless of the underlying reason, should be provided access to a single stall restroom, but no student shall be required to use such a restroom,” it reads, adding that locker room usage will be “assessed on a case-by-case basis.”

” Students who identify as transgender students should be able to use the locker rooms that match their gender identity, which is consistently stated at school.” it says.

In addition, guidance says that transgender students’ needs will be evaluated on a case by case basis when they travel to and from school for activities such as overnight trips or athletic events:

Students who identify as transgender students should share accommodation with students who share their gender identity at school. Participating in the identification of safe, supportive friends to share a room with is a good way to maintain privacy and security when making room arrangements.

The guidance comes with increasing pressure from radical left members, who push for the grooming and raising of children as young as possible.
