A Migrant Woman Falls from a Train Near Texas Border

Del Rio Sector border patrol agents saved a woman who fell from a South Texas train.

Eagle Pass Station agents received a 911 call from a man saying a woman jumped from a moving railcar. According to Del Rio Sector Border Patrol officers, the railcar ran her over, cutting her ankle just below her knee.

Eagle Pass officers quickly responded to the scene and located the woman injured — an illegally-present Honduran national. They provided emergency medical attention, which saved the life of the woman.

A helicopter air ambulance arrived at her location and took her to the hospital.

Officials report that Del Rio Sector agents rescued more than 350 migrants from life-threatening circumstances during human smuggling operations this fiscal year. The year began on October 1, 2021.

Agents from Eagle Pass encountered large numbers of migrants in short time spans over the weekend. During a five-hour period on Sunday, agents apprehended nearly 700 migrants in a five-hour period, Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark reported.

The apprehensions included one group of nearly 300 migrants — mostly single adults. The large group crossings tied up federal resources causing migrants to sit in 100+ degree heat for hours while they awaited transportation.

Texas National Guard troops and Department of Public Safety troopers kept migrants waiting for Border Patrol. DPS troopers also transported migrants to CBP ports of entry where they had waited under the shade.
