What’s a Woman?

You must understand what it is to be a women–chromosomes and feminine intuition.

A woman is a difficult concept to define. According to conservative pundits who are shrewd, this meaning is not just for gender studies majors at Harvard, but all straight white men and middle-class women as well as backwoods hillbillies. These people are not afraid to tell the truth.

Progressives know that being a woman is more than simply having chromosomes and the colour pink. While a woman’s biology is not less important than that of a man, she can also be much more. While some of the differences between women are physically obvious, many others are more social, emotional and psychological. They have been the focus of poetry, literature, songs, novels, and art for the past two thousand years. There are still many poems to discover.

While conservatives have a right to question what makes a woman a woman they are unable to give a comprehensive answer. Intelligent Christians, however, have abandoned the question to science textbooks and other authorities, thinking that defining male or female was no less important than the definition of a mitochondria. This has serious consequences for the souls of men. What we end up with isn’t a lack or bias in the definition-writing process, but an absence of any real definition. The biological definition of gender is being increasingly challenged, especially as medical professionals discover new ways to reduce the differences in physical appearance between women and men.

What now? For starters, the Associated Press is issuing new guidance on how to refer to men and women who believe they are of the opposite sex: For the sake of greater clarity, they say, a man dressed like a woman should simply be called a woman, and vice versa. Terms such as “biological” and “sex” can be interpreted incorrectly. “Transgender” should only be used in an adjective. It’s not a noun. Transgender issues will always be the main focus of this story. To say someone is a woman is just neater than to say he identifies as a woman.

This is the next step for secularists who believe that they are a woman. This is very coherent. It presents a problem for the rest of us. It is possible to imagine many scenarios where not knowing the truth about sex would lead to serious consequences, such as criminal investigation. This unfortunate contribution from the transgender community.

We know where we are going, but it’s not because left-leaning brightest and best people don’t have the most sharpest of tools. It is obvious that we have given up the important task of raising women and men to science classes and secular sex education. Students in high school learned that there is one type of sexual organ, and that women have another. They were not given any other options. It is no surprise that they are unable to accept the new definition. It’s no wonder men are dressing up in makeup and young women are afraid of their own femininity in unprecedented levels. They didn’t have to learn the beauty and strength of being female, or how to be different than the male. Not biology textbooks.

It should be obvious that the AP achieved less clarity than it did more. Communicate means to share; the word is also used for “communion”, the bonding of Christ’s Church through his body and blood. How does it happen when journalists claim a man is married, while his backward uncle and the entire small town believe he’s not? Our words do more than create a connection between people. Although we appear to be using the same word, it is not the same thing. It is a fabrication of our language.

It isn’t enough that language should be just shared. The words that we speak correspond to an objective reality. This is something in every created thing that our language can only identify. Language doesn’t create. It names creation. To correctly name each creature, one must be able to identify its characteristics. It is important to understand what it means for a woman to have chromosomes and feminine intuition.

So, here we are. We disagree not just on the meaning of being a woman, but also who defines it. Is it something or someone eternal? Democracy? Or people who think rightly In a funny way it’s quite sad that, after all the years of advancements and unimaginable levels of global communications, the foundations on which the progress has been built have fallen apart. It doesn’t matter if there are microchips or semiconductors, if you don’t understand what it means for women and men to be different. What good are human rights campaigns if human beings can be reduced to X and Y numbers on birth certificates, whether they’re changeable? As though we had reached the top, but before God could curse us, everyone was already talking.
