North Korean Sister of the Dictator Discredits South Korean Economic Aid Offer as “Foolish”

Kim Yojong, the strong and confrontational sister to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, dismissed South Korean President Yoon Seuk-yeol’s offer for economic assistance in return for denuclearization and said that it was “foolish”. He told Yoon to “Shut his mouth .”

In a speech on Monday, Yoon offered an ambitious package of economic assistance for impoverished, starving North Koreans if their despotic government would agree to stop developing nuclear missiles.

“We are implementing a large-scale programme to provide food and assistance in establishing infrastructure to produce, transmit and distribute electricity. We will also carry out projects that modernize ports to aid trade,” Yoon stated at an event commemorating the fall of Japanese colonial control over the Korean peninsula following World War II.

” We will also assist North Korea in improving its agricultural production and providing assistance for modernizing its hospitals and infrastructure. Additionally, we will implement initiatives that allow international financial and investment support,” he said.

North Korea’s communist government is a psychotic one. It spends huge amounts on weapons research and military equipment, while its captive population faces constant food shortages. The North’s current food crisis is among the most severe in the world — indeed, the situation is so grave that the regime actually admitted it has a food problem.

Exact statistics on poverty in North Korea are difficult to calculate because the regime is so secretive, but according to the most careful estimates, about 60% of the population lives below the internationally recognized poverty line. Many North Koreans are forced to join paramilitary labor brigades that never get around to paying them for their grueling work.

North Korea suffered a severe outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus. The regime claimed that no cases were found within its territory for as long it could. Two weeks ago, the regime claimed Covid-19 had been completely eliminated without any vaccines.

In sum, it was clear that the North Korean population could use Yoon’s help, but Kim Yojong, who lives much more comfortably than her poor subjects, turned down the offer on Friday with a disdainful snarl.

“It would have been more favorable for his image to shut his mouth, rather than talking nonsense as he had nothing better to say,” she said of Yoon’s “foolish” offer, as quoted by North Korean state media.

“No one barters its destiny for corn cake,” Kim said, dismissing Yoon’s denuclearization offer as the “height of absurdity.”

Kim repeated North Korea’s bizarre accusation that South Korea deliberately infected it with Covid-19 by flying tainted propaganda leaflets across the border on balloons. Last week she made a threat of military retaliation against South Korea for giving her brother fever, while he was executing the “amazing miracle” of defeating coronavirus.

” We have eliminated the South Korean virus. It must be countered strongly. “We have considered many counteraction strategies, but the countermeasure we take must be deadly,” she stated last week.

The South Korean Unification Ministry condemned Kim’s “disrespectful, indecent” refusal to accept Yoon’s offer. No other North Korean official commented.

“This attitude from North Korea will not only threaten peace on the Korean Peninsula but result in further difficulties for the North by worsening its international isolation and economic situation,” the Unification Ministry said.

President Yoon’s office also said Kim’s response was “rude,” but stressed the offer of assistance still stands.
