Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), claimed that “highly credible” whistleblowers told him about efforts by the FBI and Justice Departments to minimize or eliminate negative information regarding Hunter Biden.
According to letters reviewed by CBS News, Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland alleging that sources within the FBI presented to him evidence of attempts to downplay or discredit information about Hunter Biden.
” The information I received from my office concerns the FBI’s receipt and misuse of Hunter Biden derogatory information, as well the FBI’s misleading portrayal of evidence acquired as disinformation. These allegations are consistent and overwhelmingly credible, and warrant this letter,” wrote Grassley.
“First, it’s been alleged that the FBI developed information in 2020 about Hunter Biden’s criminal financial and related activity,” he continued. “It is further alleged that in August 2020, FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten opened an assessment which was used by an FBI Headquarters (“FBI HQ”) team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease.”
Grassley’s letter further alleged that just one month before the 2020 election, “an avenue of derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed” by a senior FBI agent at the bureau’s Washington Field office.
” The allegations made to my office seem to suggest that certain FBI officers were involved in a plan to subvert derogatory Hunter Biden information by falsely implying it to be disinformation,” wrote Grassley.

CBS News noted that “more than 150 financial transactions involving either Hunter or James Biden’s global business affairs were flagged as concerning by U.S. banks for further review.”
Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss declined to say whether his office knew of FBI accusations labelling Hunter Biden’s allegations disinformation. He also refused to discuss how it influenced his investigation.
In a previous letter dated May 31, Grassley also accused Timothy Thibault, the senior FBI agent at the bureau’s Washington Field Office, of possibly violating “[f]ederal laws, regulations and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) guidelines.”
“Whistleblowers reported to me that, although Justice Department and FBI policies require substantial factual predication in order to open an investigation, Thibault and the other Justice Department and FBI staff failed to follow these standards,” wrote Grassley.
” “In light of these allegations, I remain concerned that political bias perpetrated by a small group of Justice Department officials and FBI officers has infected both the Justice Department’s process and FBI’s procedure to open high-profile, politically charged investigations,” Grassley said.
Grassley ended by requesting records of the FBI and Justice Department before August 8. While alleging that Garland and Wray had “systemic and existential issues within” their agencies,

” The country has an obligation to investigate these claims immediately,” he said.
Breitbart News reported that Hunter Biden may face criminal charges for failing to register as a foreign agent when he was involved in business transactions overseas.

Each book hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and exposed how Hunter Biden and Joe Biden flew aboard Air Force Two in 2013 to China ten days before Hunter’s firm inked a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China. Schweizer’s research also revealed other lucrative deals that the Bidens made abroad and their cronyism.
Breitbart’s investigation into the Hunter Biden’s “laptop from Hell” captured international attention when Emma-Jo Morris, along Miranda Devine revealed that Joe Biden had a 10 percent share in Hunter’s business ventures. She also claimed to have been involved with the formation of a company Hunter formed with high ranking officials in the Chinese Communist Party.
