Karine Jean-Pierre Laughably Claims WH Discovered about Trump Raid from ‘Public Reports’, Refuses to Answer Detailed Question

During Tuesday’s White House briefing Karine Jean-Pierre, the Press Secretary, confirmed previously anonymous claims that no White House was briefed on Monday’s FBI raid of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. She also said that everyone else had been informed about the long, hours-long operation.

Jean-Pierre’s initial presentation was interrupted by a reporter, who repeatedly stumbled upon the phrase “served search warrant”, and began to ask Jean-Pierre:

Another topic: The FBI executed a search warrant at the residence of the former President in Florida. Did the White House know about the search warrant? Or were White House staff briefed on the events that followed the execution of the search warrant?

The answer:

No.

No. No. The White House did not give anyone a heads up. No. This was not the case.

The reporter continued her questioning about the impact of the raid on current politics and optics. Jean-Pierre read from Jean Pierre’s binder the canned response:

The Justice Department is responsible for conducting investigations and leaves law enforcement to them. We are not authorized to discuss ongoing investigations. Since the election, President Biden was unambiguous. Biden believes in the rule and independence of Justice Department investigations. He has maintained that belief as President.

She directed all questions from the press to the Department of Justice, and answered multiple optics questions by saying “Look, We’re not going to comment .”

.”

Jean-Pierre answered a question from another reporter about the way the White House was informed of the raid.

I will say the following. The President learned of the FBI’s search through public reports. This activity was not disclosed to us in advance, just as the American people did yesterday.

Another reporter asked if this action by the Justice Department was handled the way Biden promised the department would function when he nominated Merrick Garland on January 7, 2021, and, after being flustered for a moment, she said it was up to the DOJ to decide if they’d upheld Biden’s standard.

She refused to answer any questions from Fox News’s Peter Doocy, even though he started out by asking if Biden considered Trump a political rival, then referenced a statement Biden made that he’d be fortunate to have Trump as his opponent again in 2024. She gave a curious response:

All I can tell you, Peter, is that the President intends to run in 2024.

Doocy finally asked Doocy a question about the raid.

Does the White House use the FBI and Justice Department against political opponents to thwart their efforts?

Jean Pierre tried to give a canned response:

The President has been very clear from before he was elected…

Blah, blah, blah. Doocy tried to continue asking the yes/no question. Jean-Pierre did not respond to the question. Doocy claimed she had answered it, but Jean-Pierre didn’t care.

” Is this government using the Justice Department to attack political opponents? “

JeanPierre declined to comment on whether Biden or Garland were present on Tuesday.

It is not possible to claim that the White House received a warning about a raid on the home of an ex-president. Absolute stop.
