Arizona Republican Gubernatorial Primary Won by Trump-Backed Kari lake

Kari Lake has won the Arizona Republican gubernatorial primary, according to an Associated Press projection.

Lake won on Thursday, two days after Election Day. This was due to delays in Arizona’s voter reporting. Despite initially being behind Karrin Taylor Robertson her challenger on Election Day Lake took the lead when more ballots were reported and processed.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Republican Party of Arizona jointly released a statement that night. They criticized Arizona’s Pinal County and called for the resignation of its county elections director.

The statement said:

During Arizona’s primary elections, the RNC and Republican Party of Arizona’s poll observer program documented and reported multiple failures by Pinal County’s Elections Administrator, including 63,000 mail-in ballots delivered to the wrong voters and multiple Republican- heavy precinct locations running out of ballots. It is an egregious failure which disenfranchises Arizonans. This also exemplifies the importance of Republican-led transparency efforts at the ballot box. David Frisk, Pinal County Elections director should be fired immediately.

At the time the race was called, Lake earned roughly 47 percent of the vote, with 93 percent reported. With more than 336,000 votes, Lake had an estimated 20,000 vote lead over Robson, who earned 44 percent of the vote.

Republican nominee Matt Salmon received nearly 4 percent of the vote, despite having dropped out several weeks prior to the primary.

Lake despite Robson being supported by established Republican politicians such as former Vice President Mike Pence, Arizona Governor. Doug Ducey cannot run for a second term due to term limitations.

Lake, a former local news anchor, won every Arizona county with the help of an endorsement by former President Donald Trump.

Lake will face Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, the Democrat nominee for governor, in the November midterm election.

Lake criticized Hobbs for her role in the 2020 presidential election in a statement released shortly after the race was officially called for her. Lake stated that her win sends the message to Arizona voters that they are done with “failed politicians like Katie Hobbs.”

Lake said:

Though the results took longer than they should have, Arizonans who have been forgotten by the establishment just delivered a political earthquake. My opponent Katie Hobbs had one job in government, and that was to ensure an efficiently-processed election. She was relegated to the bottom, but she is still seeking a promotion, just as every failed incumbent politician. Arizona sent out a clear signal: We are done with Katie Hobbs and other failed politicians.

Lake then presented her plan to make Arizona a state if she is elected as governor. This included securing Arizona’s southern border and getting the woke-indoctrination out children’s schools. She also proposed defeating radical left Democrats.

” This is not an election. It is a beautiful move by so many people throughout our beautiful state, to finally place Arizona First,” Lake stated.

She continued:

Our renewed Republican Party is now coming together to fight for a brighter and more prosperous future for every Arizonan. Stop schools indoctrinating children. We’ll stop the government from closing down businesses and livelihoods. Our goal is to get the homeless off the streets and invest in their families. We also want to preserve the quality of our communities’ lives. Our open border will be closed to all drug and human trafficking. We’ll stop fentanyl and other illegal drugs. We will fight the corrupt and radical Democrats starting tonight to restore Arizona’s government!

Lake won the Arizona GOP primary on Thursday. This marks a sweep of Trump-backed candidates. Trump’s nominees for U.S. Senate, Arizona attorney general and U.S. Senate, Blake Masters, and Abe Hamadeh won their primaries.
