Ron Johnson is the underdog in the battle for a third term in Senate

.

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson is fighting the most difficult political battle of his life, but he’s used it.

For the third time in Johnson’s political career, he is in the trail in polls before a November election in which he faces a top-ranking Democrat from a state in a race to determine the U.S. Senate seat.

Mr. Johnson was elected in narrow fashion to the Senate in 2010, and then again in 2016,. He is now facing Democratic Lt. Governor. Mandela Barnes is running for the third term of his Senate term. Recent polls have shown that Mr. Barnes is leading.

This is familiar territory for Johnson who was able to win two times in the state that has a nearly equal number of Republicans and Democrats while less voters are part of the persuadable center.

” It seems that I’m always underdog,” Johnson said to The Washington Times. “It was my first and second times. This race .”

makes me feel better.

Recent polls have shown Mr. Barnes has a slight edge but Mr. Johnson discountes the results. He was behind in 2010, and 2016. polls. He defeated Russ Feingold (Democrat) by 5 and 3.4 points in each race.

Mr. Johnson foresaw another tight race in November, as he vies to win voters in one the most politically divided areas of the country.

President Biden beat incumbent Donald Trump in 2020 by fewer than 21,000 votes. Mr. Trump won the state in 2016 over Democrat Hillary Clinton by fewer than 23,000 votes.

“It’s Wisconsin. “We are fighting for the very small middle,” Johnson stated.

After considering running for another term but being discouraged by the prospect of losing, Johnson said that he was going to run because voters asked him to remain in the Senate. He has been working to reduce taxes and regulations, and to promote legislation that will help create new jobs.

He has also advocated for reducing federal spending. Federal spending has increased in recent years due to large spending bills that were approved mainly by Democrats.

He opposed much of recent government spending, which economists attribute to the high inflation rate over 40years. He also opposed Democratic energy policy that has contributed to rising gas prices.

Mr. Johnson is a Republican top-ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and has led the GOP effort for the investigation into the foreign business dealings Mr. Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

Mr. Johnson and Sen. Charles E. Grassley (an Iowa Republican member of the Judiciary Committee) are seeking records from FBI regarding the FBI’s contacts with Facebook and other social platforms in relation to their attempts to block stories related to Hunter Biden’s laptop computer during the 2020 election. Information about Biden’s father’s power in foreign trade deals was contained on the laptop.

If he’s reelected and Republicans retake the gavel in the Senate, Mr. Johnson will chair the Homeland and Governmental Reform Subcommittee on Investigations, where he plans to aggressively scrutinize the government’s “miserably failed” response to the COVID-19 pandemic that centered on lockdowns and mandates, as well as new whistleblower allegations of misconduct at the FBI.

“It is becoming quite clear that at least some of these top echelons have some real corruption going on,” Johnson stated.

But, voters who approach Johnson at campaign events have less interest in Hunter Biden. They are more interested in the high gas prices and not just about how much they are paying at the pump. He said that they expressed to him fears about the nation’s steep decline.

” Almost every time someone in the crowd comes up with tears in their eyes, or actually streaming down their cheeks and say, “We have to save this country,”” Johnson stated.

” Voters are upset about the liberal policies that allow biological men to participate in female sports and have access to girls’ lockers.

“School administrators wanting to inject gender blocking drugs into the arms of children without informing their parents,” Johnson stated. It’s these types of issues people see and ask me: “What’s going on in the country?” It’s out of control .'”

The senator hopes that these fears will incite the GOP base and encourage them to vote for him at the November polls. He also aims to appeal to undecided voters, who feel the Democratic agenda is too aggressive in infringing parental rights and imposition of policies that contribute to increased crime and an illegal immigration-infested southern border.

Mr. Johnson 67, sought to label Mr. Mandela 35, a far-left Democrat, who would join “Squad”, a group of far-left congressional legislators who call for the defunding and opening up the borders. An August campaign advertisement that Mr. Johnson approved shows Mr. Barnes holding a “Abolish ICE T-shirt” he got from Democratic Socialists. They want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement which is the agency responsible in catching and deporting illegal immigrant.

The Johnson ad warns Mr. Barnes that he wants to abolish ICE and open our borders for illegal immigrants, as well as release violent felons without bail .”

The Barnes campaign declined to interview. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was told by Mr. Barnes that he supports “comprehensive Reform in Our Immigration Agencies” to protect our borders and create a path to citizenship. He also stated that he does not want anyone coming into this country to suffer traumas such as family separation .

Mr. Johnson accused Mr. Mandela, of concealing from the media during his campaign and of spending hundreds of thousand of dollars on protection by state police.

” I think they are trying to run a Joe Biden election from the basement, or in his state-chauffeured cars,” Johnson stated. He was referring to the President’s short time spent on the campaign trail before the 2020 elections. Don’t ask him questions by the media and Wisconsinites. It is impossible for them to afford to tell Wisconsin who he really is .”

Campaign ads backing Mr. Barnes call Mr. Johnson “out of touch with Wisconsin,” and accuse him of failing to fight for an Oshkosh company to keep 1,000 manufacturing jobs in the state instead of moving them to South Carolina.

Johnson stated that the contract for vehicles to be produced by the post office involved federal funds, which he believes would have been more efficient spent elsewhere. Johnson also cited Wisconsin’s low unemployment and difficulties employers had in hiring employees.

He is unapologetic in his policies, especially the need to reduce federal spending. According to the Treasury, it increased by 50%, from 2019, to 2021,. The federal debt is now nearly $31 trillion.

” I’m still the guy who ran for 2010, worried about rising debt and even more so,” Johnson stated. “I am distraught that I am one of the few. Washington, D.C., and society seem to be whirling by the graveyard .”
