Andre Rison, ex-Raiders player says Jon Gruden deserves a second chance: “No one is God”

Ex–Oakland Raiders Wide Receiver Andre Rison believes that Jon Gruden should be given another chance to re-enter coaching.

Rison Told Sports that “noone is God” or is perfect and suggested Gruden should be forgave.

Gruden quit the Raiders in October last year after emails with controversial remarks were released to the media. These emails contained misogynistic and racial comments.

But Rison believes people don’t have enough freedom these days.

” “For some reason, everyone thinks they are God because of social media and other platforms where they can express their opinions,” Rison stated. He was given the gift of coaching by God. If he repents, forgives himself for any mistakes and apologises, it is up to God .

Rison played for the Raiders with Gruden as his head coach during the 2000 season and said that he never saw or heard Gruden act improperly towards anyone. Rison said that Gruden doesn’t seem racist to him.

” For him to be racist, and if he were a racist he would have given a lot black athletes opportunities and chances to feed their families,” Rison argued.

Gruden never tried to defend the content of his emails and admitted the words were “shameful.” But last week, during an appearance at Arkansas football’s Little Rock Touchdown Club, he said he wished he could “get another shot” at coaching.
