MSNBC’s prime-time program “The Rachel Maddow Show”, which Rachel Maddow hosted once a week, is in disarray due to her contract. Wagner recently appeared on HBO’s “The Circus”, where she was interviewed by a group of people who covered the Democratic primaries and “analyzed” Donald Trump’s presidency.
“Alex Wagner Tonight” has averaged 1.6 million viewers through two weeks of her show. Comparatively, “The Rachel Maddow Show”, which averaged 2.65 million viewers in the same time span, Wagner saw a decrease of more than 30%.
This is Wagner’s message prior to her MSNBC prime-time segment:
” I would like to reach the biggest audience possible, so I plan to put a quality show on air .”

” I have no intention to ignore what’s going on in America for Asian Americans…. My mother 78 doesn’t feel at ease walking along the streets of the swing area where she lives. When Karen K. Ho, “The Cut “, asked Wagner what it was like to be part of the cohort she replied:
“It’s insane. It’s an honor to be among them. Ho replied, “That has to change.” Wagner replied, “I’m in the group now. Let’s all hope that I can remain here .”
To be fair, Wagner earned that prime-time slot and was a good reporter on HBO’s “The Circus,” but I think her downfall occurred when she opened her MSNBC show and attacked Christianity. Even for MSNBC viewers, it seems that religious bigotry does not seem to be popular. Wagner seems to be primarily focused on demonizing DeSantis, and any other Republicans that she doesn’t agree with. While this would be great, the issue with Wagner’s show is her claim to be a journalist. A journalist should report the truth, not just give credit where it is due. Wagner currently reports the news in a biased manner on a daily basis. Wagner and many mainstream media hosts shouldn’t be considered journalists like most Fox News hosts. Her best description would be as a television personality.
Some claim that she doesn’t motivate Democrats to vote. She claims she is a journalist and her job is to tell the truth.
She can turn things around, but only if she reports on the facts, similar to how NewsNation reports on the news and moves away from speaking about DeSantis constantly and trashing Christianity. Her ratings will drop if she continues to preach religion and attack GOP members. Not among MSNBC regular viewers, but rather among “The Circus”, where she’s completely different from what she does on MSNBC.
