Purdue President Daniels: Fed Studies Show That Schools will Profit from the Biden Debt Plan

The Fox Business Network’s Tuesday broadcast of “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” featured former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (R) as the Purdue University president. Mitch Daniels (R), stated that Federal Reserve research shows that student loans are subsidised more often than universities realize. This is why the Biden plan to cancel student loan debts has been criticized by “no reason not”

Daniels said, [relevant remarks begin around 3: 30] “It’s what, in my healthcare days, we called iatrogenic, meaning the cure makes the disease worse. Neil knows that universities are able to pocket any subsidies the government adds. One Federal Reserve study said 60% to 70% of that in higher costs. There’s every reason to think that this will happen again. This is an unfortunate display by those who believe that they have the ability to spend more than a half-trillion dollars with no approval from Congress. I’ll say this: Those who claim they can preside over the country with a stroke of the pen should not lecture anyone about respecting democracy .
