Why people are losing faith in public institutions

Why people are losing faith in public institutions

‘Live not by Lies ‘

Libs cannot comprehend why ordinary people oppose woke takeovers of public institutions, and the abuse of power

Here is a Washington Post story about a foaming-at-the-mouth smalltown mob that voted to defund its public library when the librarians refused to remove a controversial graphic memoir called Gender Queer from its shelves. This story will tell you exactly what it is: media gaslighting over queer banned books, a tragic tale about two gentle librarians (one of whom is pink-haired but openly lesbian) who resist fundamentalist bigots who despise books and liberty. Here’s a quote:

Nykamp, the Jamestown Conservative organizer, was also there, lambasting “Gender Queer” as pornographic.

“On page 135, I can see a middle-aged man with an erection touching another young man’s erection,” she told the room. “Possibly a man younger than 18.”

The township supervisor, Laurie Van Haitsma, sided with Nykamp.

” “It’s as graphic as you could be,” she stated. “I would not want my children and grandchildren seeing it.”

A lawyer had reviewed the book and determined it wasn’t pornographic, McLain replied. She had initially put it in the adult section, near books with heterosexual scenes, but she was concerned about its mature content. She moved “Gender Queer”, which was a reference to heterosexual sex scenes, behind the counter and made it only available upon request.

“We have to represent every segment of the population,” McLain said, “not just the vast majority.”

OK.

OK, stop right there. Why? These are just a few, with one slight modification. Sorry if this offends some people, but it is important that you understand what we mean.

What’s the secret to what isn’t in this story? Consider what rights citizens in democracy must have in order to set standards for public institutions that they pay their taxes. This, according to the Post author, does not appear to exist. Although the writer quotes a librarian from his locality saying “we must represent all segments of the population,” it is merely a rhetorical lie.

is one.

One of the organizers, Lauren Nykamp, declined to be interviewed but responded to some of The Washington Post’s questions over text. She said, “This isn’t about LGBTQ material.” “It is about sexualized material.”

Lauren Nykamp, who had to refrain from speaking to the Post except in writing (note to readers who might be asked for an interview), would be okay with graphic material depicting heterosexual sodomy or similar. This particular example clearly distinguishes between “represents LGBT people” and material.

Second It’s false that libraries must “represent all segments of the population.” Librarians must curate. Libraries shouldn’t worry about white supremacists and fascists being represented on their shelves. It’s empty talk.

Also, read this:

Still, given the mature content, she’d initially placed it in the adult section — near novels with heterosexual sex scenes.

There’s a difference in the content of illustrations and verbal descriptions.

It should be obvious that some library employees were not treated with the respect they deserved by the people who opposed what they were doing. The Washington Post reporter couldn’t resist writing an unbiased, progressive story about the right-wing mob who took the library away. This was in contrast to a piece of journalism which would have examined the legitimate tensions between a democracy and the limitations of free speech.

I subscribe to the Washington Post digital edition, but it is not because I believe that the Washington Post will give me an accurate picture of the world. However, I do trust the individual journalists. Because I have to subscribe for work, I do. Look, you wouldn’t have thought that the Post could tell you anything about the real world. The Post would only be able to show you the side of the story. It is the queer, pink-haired librarian who triumphs over the mob of racists. Is it not in your best interest, even though you disagree with the Left, to try and understand why so many people are upset? It is in your best interest to think about the reasons why people in a community would prefer that their library be defunded than it being used this way. It could be that there is more to this story than HAAAAAAATE.

In other Woke Public Institutions Trashing Their Trustworthiness news, a Denver public high school showed a woke video to students that, among other things, urged them not to call the police if they or someone they run into has been attacked by a black person or some other Sacred Minority. This clip starts at the neuralgic point.

This is an actual thing that actually happened. From the news article:

Rachel Goss, the school’s principal, acknowledged the video was shared with students in a message posted on the school’s website.

“I am writing this note to emphasize that the intention behind the video was to provide empowerment for people who may witness these types of attacks, not to have any sort of negative impact on the longstanding relationship between the Denver Public Schools and the Denver Police Department,” Goss wrote.

Goss stated that the video offers suggestions for interventions, but does not require you to contact law enforcement. “

“As principal of Denver South High school, I am committed to strengthening the partnership between our school & law enforcement. We, the school community, are committed to ensuring safety through our partnership with DPS Dept. Goss stated that the DPS Dept. is responsible for Safety and Denver Police.

This Denver school teaches children to accept violence against themselves if it is committed by a person of color or another “marginalized”. Public school. According to the principal, this is called “empowerment”.

Gosh, nobody wants to pay the library tax or the school tax. You might be wondering why. We hate them, and we want to invade their minds, but they are guilty. So I don’t understand why.

UPDATE: You cannot trust the medical profession and its institutions when it comes to gender ideology. It’s impossible. You can’t trust the media to be truthful about this. People like Chaya Raichik who writes under the name Libs Of Tik Tok are a blessing. Here’s her report, with audio. Excerpts:

Last week, I was viciously attacked by the media for raising awareness about Boston Children’s Hospital offering gender-affirming hysterectomies for young girls. Because I raised awareness about a Boston Children’s Hospital practice, left-wing activists demanded that I be removed from social media. They lasted for one week. The public was gassed and they denied these procedures were performed on children. The media claimed that I had incited anti-trans anger and should be silenced.

Undeterred, I decided to focus on finding out if other children’s hospitals were engaged in these barbaric practices, too. That’s when I stumbled across Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Scrolling through their site, I came across a page which says the hospital treats young patients between the ages of 0 and 21 for gynecology care and gender-affirming medical treatments, including hysterectomies.

Here is a graphic taken from the site of child mutilators:

Listen to the phone conversation Raichik had with hospital staff in which they told her that they would cut the uterus out of her healthy 16-year-old, and that they have done it to girls younger than that:
