Bill De Blasio, of Studly Corona Sutra fame and Homeless Hotels — Teaches Public Health at Harvard

If you have always wanted to learn under Bill de Blasio’s tutelage, this is your opportunity.

It might even improve your overall health.

The Fox News , former mayor of New York City is teaching at Harvard University in the fall. Bill will command a class in one of the Ivy League’s schools for government and public healthcare.

De Blasio, a Democrat who served as mayor from 2014 to 2021, will take part in “a variety of discussions, events, and programming” at the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School and will teach classes on leadership and public service at the Harvard T.H. The Chan School of Public Health was also announced by the schools in separate announcements on Wednesday.

“We’re thrilled to have Mayor de Blasio, and the [former mayor of Boston] Kim Janey on campus to serve as Menschel Senior Leader Fellows,” Dean Michelle A. Williams stated.

Williams said both officials grappled with public health crises including COVID-19, homelessness and the opioid epidemic.

” Their mentorship and insights will prove to be a tremendous help to students who want to run for public office as well as those looking to take on leadership roles in other industries,” she stated.

It’s an intriguing choice. Maybe Bill experienced management growth in the last year.

In August of 2020, he had to wave a white flag over housing the homeless in previously-unoccupied hotels. From my reporting at that time:

At 79th Street’s Lucerne — home of the 300 addicts — resident Angel Ortiz assured [the New York Post], “[W]hatever drug you can imagine is done there.”

Another resident called in:

” They shoot up and sniff out (synthetic cannabis) K2, all .”

A third said, “You got drunks – you got violent drunks .”

A restaurant owner said that drunken homeless people are harassing his customers.

“Screaming? It’s all a distraction. It is like living in a jungle. They become drunk and start fighting .”

Nanny Michele McDowall recalls an offer she was made while walking a baby before a large Upper West Side Inn.

“You want to buy crack?”

Bill was forced to close the loop, but they still gave it their best shot.

De Blasio had other ideas regarding criminals. For the sake of public health, in March of 2020, he released a third of a thousand jailbirds at greatest risk of dying from COVID.

More than 1,100 freed city inmates later, he expressed shock to learn they were committing new crimes.

” I think that it is unconscionable — on a human-level — for people to be shown mercy and this has been what some have done. The NYPD will continue to monitor and supervise the situation as closely as possible. And the NYPD is going to keep doing what they’re doing.”

Per my July coverage, he boasted about the empty prisons in the city:

Bill’s describes a New York City where far fewer lawbreakers are locked up: “safer .”

The mayor was honored Thursday amid an increase in crime and the retirement of many police officers. …

” We now have less people in jail than ever since WWII. It is safer and more beneficial for us .”

To further enhance public health, that June, NYC issued the Corona Sutra — a six-point guide called Safer Sex and COVID-19.

Perhaps its best advice is

Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls, that allow sexual contact while preventing close face-to-face contact.

In the light of New York’s “safer” sex guide it is time to shop for that ideal drill bit. #COVID19 #CoronaSutrahttps://t.co/bLLy7zDu2I pic.twitter.com/rHo6DCnY7b

Back to Bill’s public health teaching job, Paul Mauro, a former NYPD officer had an interesting response to the news. Paul shared it with America’s Newsroom:

” I thought it was parody at first. What’s the point? It’s not acceptable to show up on time. This is, in my opinion, like hiring a coach from the last-place team

” And full disclosure,” he said, adding that “I was there.” The Kennedy School is where I graduated. They have great people and amazing professors. Bill de Blasio is not expected to be .”
