His comments were made at the Democratic National Committee’s fundraiser in Rockville, Maryland, which is a left-leaning community just north of Washington, D.C .

The event took place in a high school. This was the beginning of an aggressive midterm campaign season that is just over two months away.

” What we are seeing is the birth or death of extreme MAGA ideology. Trump is not the only one, but the whole philosophy.

” This is not your father’s Republican Party. He said, “This is a completely different deal.”

Democrats once feared a political shellacking. But their hopes are now rebounding after a string of legislative victories, and Mr. Biden’s actions that have rallied his base.

Mr. Biden capitalized on this momentum during his remarks and ticked off some of his recent policy victories, including the $740 trillion climate, tax, and health bill that he signed into law. A separate bill was also signed to boost U.S. chip production and gun control legislation.
