When Girlbossing goes wrong

Finnish Prime Minster Sanna Marin is caught up in a Partygate.

Boris Johnson wasn’t the only prime Minister to be involved in the Partygate scandal.

On Aug. 17, videos of Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin partying with Finnish celebrities. Marin is seen dancing to EDM music while five of her friends look into their cell phones. One clip shows Marin dancing to EDM music on her knees while she watches from a darkened apartment. Another video captures the prime minister embracing another woman who was filming the footage. One clip shows other partygoers talking about cocaine. This led to intense criticism from the Finnish media, and Marin was forced to take a drug screen.

It’s not the first time Marin was criticized for her drinking habits. In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, Marin was caught partying at a dance club after unknowingly coming into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

Marin swiftly denied any use of drugs at the party, which reportedly took place over the first weekend in August, and argued that none of her behavior at the party was “inappropriate.”

Finland’s Prime Minister @MarinSanna is in the headlines after a video of her partying was leaked today.

She was previously criticized for going to too many music festivals and spending too much time partying rather than ruling.

” I think that my ability to function well was very good. Marin spoke in her native tongue to reporters that there were no meetings the day I was drinking. I trust people can understand the difference between work and leisure. “

“I have a family life, I have a work life and I have free time to spend with my friends,” Marin said, per Finnish media outlet Yle. “It’s pretty much the same for many of my peers .”

.”

Marin maintained her conviction that she had done nothing wrong. “

“Even as a teenager, I have never used drugs,” Marin said. He is the youngest prime minister of the country’s past history. Marin agreed to undergo a drug screening on Friday in an effort to calm public anger. The test was negative Monday. But Marin’s drug test has been overshadowed by the release of another video that depicts Marin grinding with a man that is not her husband.

The man in the video, identified as 28-year-old Finnish pop musician Olavi Uusivirta, pretty plainly appears to be kissing the married 36-year-old prime minister on the neck as “I Gotta Feeling” from the Black Eyed Peas plays in the background. One witness told Finnish outlet Seiska that though the Social Democratic prime minister is not seen drinking in the video, Marin was “clearly intoxicated.” The witness also claimed she “danced intimately with at least three different men,” and “sat on the laps” of two others.

A new video showing Prime Minister Sanna Marina’s “party scandal”, was released in Finland today.

Seiska writes that Marin, who is married and has been in that relationship for 18 years, was seen in many questionable situations.

“She acted like a single 20-something. It was hard to believe that she is married,” the witness said, according to Seiska. The witness also claimed that Marin was out until at least 5: 30 a.m.

However, Marin refuted the claim that Uusivirta was smooching her neck. Marin suggested instead that Uusivirta might be whispering to her or kissing her cheek.

” If someone kissed me on my cheek, it’s not inappropriate. It’s something that I can handle and tell my husband,” Marin stated.

For 18 years, Marin has been in a relationship with Markus Raikkonen, a former Finnish soccer player turned investor. The pair tied the knot in 2020, two years after the birth of their first child.

Uusivirta issued a denial of his own via Instagram, posting a picture of himself with a caption (translated into English) that reads, “there has been speculation in the public about the quality of the relationship between me and Prime Minister Sanna Marin. It’s true, we’re friends. Nothing inappropriate happened .”

Beyond the obviously immoral behavior, Marin was apparently on duty during the whole ordeal and had to be available around the clock to make crucial decisions because the prime minister canceled her vacation time originally scheduled for that weekend.

Marin’s apparent infidelity, and her dereliction of duties as prime minister have been a rallying cry of a group of her female supporters. To show support for Marin, several women took to social media to post videos showing them drinking or dancing to the tune of unfair standards.

Alt for Damerne, a Danish women’s magazine, created a compilation video of their female employees dancing and drinking to show support for the Finnish prime minister.

“Our first idea was to write a column or editorial but then we thought, let’s do this with some kind of humor and show that we all have those clips on our camera roll that wasn’t supposed to see the light of day,” Editor-in-Chief Rikke Dal Stottrup said, according to NPR.

Even more women around the globe have shared photos of themselves at events, bars and raves with #SolidaritywithSanna captions. This is yet another sign that women don’t deserve equal treatment.

We would think that Marin’s infidelity to her husband might cause women to reconsider their support of Marin. This is exactly the point of feminist movements: women can act like feminists, but this is not the main goal. Feminism is presented as an elevating force that gives women both the economic and political power they need to participate equally in society. It’s actually a leveling force that shatters women to their lowest instincts and basest desires. Marin and her allies aren’t complaining about unfair standards; they are merely complaining that standards exist.

Rest assured that Washington’s policymakers agree that Finland must be kept under the American nuclear umbrella in the event that Mr. Moscow wants to expand his westward border in order to preserve the liberalism Marin cherishes.

Sorry, Mr. Raikkonen.
