Despite persistent allegations of underfunding, long wait lists and patient waiting times, the socialized healthcare system in Britain has spent more than PS1million on woke LGBTQ+ staff and racial networks.
Research from the Taxpayers’ Alliance (TPA) has found that some 493 staff networks are being funded by branches of the National Health Service (NHS) throughout the country. The most prevalent networks are for LGBTQ+ issues, with 101 such groups being funded by the taxpayer, followed by racial networks, of which there are at least 99.
The networks were found to have organized “tea-and-rainbow cake” picnics and meetings to talk about personal pronouns. In total, the time spent operating such networks — not including attending events — took up 108,807 staff hours over the past three years and cost the taxpayer PS1,081,878, the Daily Mail reported.
In reality, the cost is likely to be much higher, given that only 111 of 230 NHS trusts responded to the Freedom of Information requests.
The North Middlesex University Hospital Trust explained the reason for such networks by stating that the “principal purpose of such staff network is to inform, support and promote the trust’s goals, values, and objectives, especially in relation to equality, diversity, and inclusion in staff management and the delivery of services.” Specific goals include “organising celebrations and awareness-raising events

Conservative Members also criticized the woke programs as a waste money. David Jones MP said: “When patients cannot be operated on and wait too long to receive care, spending taxpayers’ funds on networks such this seems wasteful and sinful at best .”
” The wasteful spending of staff and funding on these areas is indicative of how the NHS operates. It should be used by the Health Secretary as an example for how funds can be more effectively spent next time bosses request more,” Sir Christopher Chope, Tory MP added.

The revelation comes amid increasing warnings that the socialised healthcare system will face a “humanitarian crisis” in the winter months, with the NHS already experiencing long waiting times and a shortage of beds and staff. The NHS has called for the government’s assistance in addressing the current energy crisis. They warned that people will be forced to live in freezing and unsanitary conditions, and some may have to forgo meals because of the rising cost of fuel.

NHS Confederation said that the country was facing a humanitarian crisis. There are many options available to people who have to choose between not having enough food to heat their homes or living in very cold and damp conditions.

Despite the consistent claims from the NHS of being underfunded, the public healthcare system has not been shy about spending money on seemingly non-essential woke issues, such as splashing out nearly PS60,000 on painting an LGBTQ+ rainbow zebra crossing during the height of the Chinese coronavirus crisis.
In June, Breitbart London revealed that the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust had paid out PS50,000 to award its own staff members medals to pat themselves on the back for staying open during the Wuhan virus pandemic.
To defend the huge sums and hours spent on woke staff network, an NHS spokesperson said that while individual trusts have to make decisions about how to support their staff members, voluntary networks allow staff to voice concerns, which improves services for patients .”
