Biden organizes White House summit against racism and violent extremism

The White House announced that President Biden will be hosting a summit in October to combat racism and hate-fueled violence in America.

Residents of the White House described Sept. 15 as an act against “the corrosive effect of hate-fueled violence upon our democracy and public security.”

Mr. Biden will give the keynote speech at the “United We Stand Summit”, where he’ll highlight the Biden/Harris Administration response to hatred and “put forward an agreed vision for a stronger America,” officials stated.

” President Biden stated in Buffalo, following the horrendous mass shootings earlier in the year, that in order to win the fight for America’s soul, ‘we all must enlist in this grand cause of America’,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre released a statement. The United We Stand Summit is an opportunity for Americans from all walks of American life to join forces in this cause .”

The summit’s lineup includes officials from the federal, state, and local levels, as well as civil rights organizations, business leaders and law enforcement officers.

Mr. Biden has frequently cited violence at the 2017 rally of white nationalists in Charlottesville as a reason for running for the presidency in 2020,. His administration has made it a top priority to fight extremism.

Mr. Biden signed legislation to fight anti-Asian hate crime and the first national gun control bill since decades after back-to-back mass killings in Buffalo (New York) and Uvalde (Texas).

Critics say that Mr. Biden has done very little to unify the nation, while many in the GOP fear that the government is causing further divisions.

Republican strategist Chris Wilson from WPA Intelligence stated that the summit won’t be able to help Mr. Biden fulfill his campaign promise of unifying Americans.

“Biden won the election because it offered normalcy and calm, but his actions as president have caused the reverse effect.” Mr. Willson stated. The moderate Biden team was thrown out and replaced by hard-core, progressive activists who just want to win the culture war. .”

” I’d be amazed if much of what happens at the summit isn’t more of the exact same,” he stated.

As part of his effort to eradicate hate crime, Vice President Joe Biden has announced a comprehensive strategy for dealing with domestic terrorist threats. According to the Department of Homeland Security, extremists are a national threat priority. In January, the Justice Department established a special unit for domestic terrorist attacks.

Republican legislators have accused the government of not paying attention to left-wing violence, and using fear of right-wing terrorist attacks to attack political opponents and suppress legitimate discussion.

Attorney general Merrick Garland raised concerns about a growing police state when he sent a memo directing federal law enforcement officers to plan against terrorist threats from parents who were protesting the local school boards.

The memo was in response to the National School Boards Association’s letter to Mr. Biden asking for federal assistance to end threats made by parents to public school officials.

Since the controversy over the memo, Republican suspicion of federal law enforcement have risen.

Republican Jim Jordan, Ohio’s top Republican, stated last month that a whistleblower made allegations about FBI agents being pressured to open criminal cases in order to help the Biden administration fight home-grown terror.

” These whistleblower claims that the FBI is padding domestic violent extremist information cheapens actual instances of violent extremism,” Mr. Jordan stated in a letter addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray. This information reinforces our concerns, which we’ve written several times to you about the FBI’s politicization .”

Mr. Jordan stated that the FBI seemed “more focused upon classifying investigations in order to meet a left-wing agenda .”

The FBI raid at the Mar-a-Lago estate of former President Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida further inflamed allegations that federal investigators were politicized.

A Rasmussen Reports poll on Thursday showed that 53% majority of voters agree with Roger Stone, former Trump advisor’s critique of FBI’s role as “Biden’s personal Gestapo .”

Only 30% Republicans and 45% Independents have a positive opinion of the FBI. The overwhelming majority, 75%,of Democrats and 81%of liberals have positive views of the FBI.

Democrats applauded the decision of Mr. Biden to host this summit.

“It draws attention to an important national issue, he stated. Domestic terrorism is a major problem in our country. Brad Bannon, a Democrat strategist said that you can ask the Buffalo families about the victims of domestic terrorism. Only Republicans can complain about the efforts to combat domestic terrorist .”
