Jill Biden, first lady tests positive for COVID-19

Jill Biden, the first lady of President Biden’s family was tested for coronavirus in South Carolina while she was on vacation. Her office reported Tuesday.

Mrs. Biden tested positive after developing cold-like symptoms. Although she was negative for an antigen test after developing symptoms similar to those of a cold, a sensitiver PCR confirmed that the virus had been detected.

” The first lady has been double-vaccinated and twice boosted. She is only showing mild symptoms,” Elizabeth Alexander, Mrs. Biden’s spokesperson, stated.

She stated that Mrs. Biden was given Paxlovid and she will be able to isolate herself for at most five days. She is being guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Mrs. Biden was positive less than one week after Mr. Biden returned from his long isolation at White House because of the virus.

The president kept his distance from other people until he was given a negative result. He then got isolated again after being positive for a Paxlovid rebound.

Mr. Biden arrived in Delaware on August 7th for a short trip before his Washington business and South Carolina family trip.

The team of Mrs. Biden said that close contacts with the first lady were notified.

The First Lady is currently at a South Carolina private residence and will remain there until she has received two negative results, according to Ms. Alexander.
