FACT CHECK: Is Adam Schiff Being Impeached?

.Schiff is apparently trying to be the House Democrats’ next leader if Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, decides to retire following this year’s midterm elections. The Washington Post . According to The Washington Post, a Facebook video has been shared many times and claims that he’s about to be impeached.

“IT’S FINALLY REVEALED ADAM SCHIFF TO BE IMPEACHED – Brave Jim Jordan BLASTS Schiff,” reads the 14-minute video’s title and caption. (RELATED : Was Jim Jordan adamant that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was ‘dumb’ during a recent exchange? )

The title and caption of the post are incorrect. The credible information found by Check Your Fact did not indicate that Schiff was facing impeachment, or that Jim Jordan (Republican of Ohio) brought forward such a motion. Schiff makes no mention of any impeachment proceeding against him on his website or verified Twitter account. The video in the post does not support this claim. It consists of a collection of clips in which Jordan attacks Schiff for many reasons that are not related to the alleged impeachment proceedings against him. The final clip shows Jordan lambasting Schiff in December 2021 over the Protect Our Democracy Act, a bill sponsored by Schiff that seeks to prevent abuses of power by the president. None of the clips mention an impeachment proceeding against Schiff, who is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. This isn’t the first misinformation about Jordan.
