Exclusive – Chuck Grassley: Senate will investigate Mar-a-Lago Raid if GOP takes Majority

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA, stated to Breitbart News that he intends to investigate Mar-a-Lago’s Federal Bureau of Investigation raid.

Grassley was the top ranking member of Senate Judiciary Committee and appeared on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Sunday . He discussed a variety of aspects of the raid on former President Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Grassley stated that the FBI has a “double standard” regarding Trump, in comparison to other politicians, such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Hunter Biden, President.

” I see it in a bigger context… that is, the FBI has been kind of holding themselves up to a double standard for a long time. You know, you can go back to the Steele Dossier,” Grassley told host Matthew Boyle, referencing the Russia collusion hoax. You can return to Carter Page or FISA… warrant, as well as to Clinton’s emails. It just seemed to me that there is political bias within the FBI. You’ve also heard me recently give evidence that I had political bias in starting a Trump probe and ending a Hunter Biden inquiry. It’s reasonable to ask the question about how much political bias there is and the current actions .

” Then you can go to… Attorney general Garland and make a statement about his desire to be completely transparent. If he wants to be totally transparent, then he should make sure that the affidavits follow up on the warrant, and then you’d have total transparency,” Grassley added.

Listen:

On Thursday, the Iowa senator asked FBI Director Christopher Wray a series of questions about the raid. Wray was also requested to answer whether he approved the raid. A series of questions followed his remarks about equal law application. He asked specifically about a distinction that he made regarding the FBI’s handling investigations into Clinton, Trump. Clinton said he was “working and cooperating” with relevant Government agencies.

“Comey made his exoneration statements before he even interviewed [Clinton]. Clinton has destroyed records. “There is no evidence President Trump destroyed records,” Grassley said on Saturday. Clinton was compromised, and that there were national security issues. There is no evidence the President destroyed any documents, and there’s also no evidence he was not cooperating. We need these facts .”

Boyle questioned Grassley if Trump should be owed a exonerating confession if the FBI does not ultimately charge him.

He… deserves many exonerating statements. These should include the Steele Dossier and all that was done by [Special Counsel Robert] Mueller in order to discredit… his four-year administration. This whole thing he has been fighting for the past four years. It all turned out to be very misleading, not having a basis, the Carter Page thing, the Steele Dossier, all those things.”

Boyle then asked Senator if this could be the largest Justice Department scandal and if he expected investigations into DOJ’s intransigence from any house of Congress, if Republicans win a majority.

“A raid on the home of a former president is quite unusual. This could even be a violation his constitutional rights… But think about it: He told them, “If you want more”, back in June. If you need any additional documents, please let me know. Grassley said that unless the President is able to prove otherwise, this unusual move must be at least questioned.

“But, going back to your question about taking over the House of Representatives, there is no doubt that it will. There are already Republicans who have indicated that they will open investigations in many areas. It’s their constitutional responsibility. It’s mine. If I am in the majority and Chairman of the Judiciary Committee again, I will continue to investigate all these issues until the end. However, I think you will understand that we receive a lot of runaround from both the Republican and Democrat Administrations. Whistleblowers from the Justice Department have told me that ‘we are not going to conduct any of Grassley’s investigations. ‘”

“There is a culture that promotes political bias in the country, which only Wray could correct,” he stated. We need to change that culture. And he needs to announce what it is and when it’s carried out, and heads must roll, because people should have great confidence in the number one law enforcement agency all over the United States.”
