According to reports, Anne Heche is expected to die in the car accident injuries

Actress Anne Heche has been in hospital and remains in a coma following her Los Angeles fiery crash on August 5.

Heche’s family expressed gratitude to the hospital staff and supporters of the actress for their dedication during the past week.

“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital,” a representative for Heche’s family said in a statement obtained by Deadline.

“Unfortunately Anne Heche sustained a serious anoxic brain injury in the accident and is currently in a critical condition in a coma. It is unlikely that she will survive.

“She has made it a priority to donate her organs. She is currently on life support and will determine whether any of them are viable.

“Anne was a generous person with a big heart. She was more than her exceptional talent. Her life purpose was to spread kindness and joy, especially in moving people towards acceptance. The representative stated that she will be fondly remembered for her courage and light.

Crash

Emmy award-winner Heche, 53, was hospitalized after crashing her blue Mini Cooper into a house in the Mar Vista section of Los Angeles’s Westside shortly before 11 a.m. on Aug. 5.

After plowing the car into the property, the vehicle burst into flames and prompted a heavy fire that took nearly 60 firefighters more than an hour to put out, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The official Twitter account of the Fire Department noted that one person was critically injured and was being rescued.

According to multiple reports, no one was injured inside the house and there have not been any arrests. Police are continuing to investigate the facts of this incident.

Ohio native Heche rose to prominence for her Emmy-winning work on the NBC daytime television drama “Another World” from 1987 to 1991 and starred in a string of films including “Six Days Seven Nights,” “Wag the Dog,” “Cedar Rapids,” and “Donnie Brasco.”

She also appeared in “Hung .”
