While Democratic leaders such as Gavin Newsom and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg are pushing for every American to own an electric car, Ed Markey addressed gas prices, making a silly comment about them.
Markey said:
“We are going to ultimately say to the American people, there is no reason why you have to pay four or five dollars a gallon for gasoline when you can have an all-electric vehicle that averages 75 cents for your payment, for your all-electric vehicle to be able to move you anywhere you want in our state.”

As we know, electric vehicles cost, on average, $66,000. The price for an electric vehicle has increased 13.7 percent since last year. Although gas prices are down, they still are way above what they were just a few years back when you could fill your tank at half the price. The Democrats have made it a point to go fully electric. Some people may choose to drive hybrids, even if they don’t wish to go electric. Democratic leaders are not happy with this.
As California Governor Gavin Newsom continuously pushes his agenda of going all-electric by 2035, he doesn’t realize how flawed that idea is. California residents could purchase their electric cars in another state like Nevada and Utah. Again, we should not be told what to do and what cars are allowed.
We have heard Pete Buttigieg promote the same point. He said that people shouldn’t worry about gasoline prices and should instead buy an electric car.

Well, as Buttigieg earns his $226,300 salary, he claims to understand the pain of working families. He should understand that not every American has $66,000 to spend on an electric vehicle, and some Americans don’t want to spend that much money on an electric vehicle when they can get another car of their choosing for cheaper.
The Democrats seem to have succeeded in selling electric cars. I have seen a lot more Tesla and Volkswagen EVs, among other electric vehicles, but to lie about gas prices and claim that electric vehicles cost 75 cents is beyond laughable. In November 2021, a report showed that in 2011, 16 thousand electric vehicles were sold; that number jumped to 2 million in 2021.
But, as Green Hills Software CEO Dan O’Dowd and billionaire Dan O’Dowd have been pointing out: Tesla, the most beloved EV still has safety issues. The White House and Democratic leaders shouldn’t be encouraging everyone to get an electric vehicle until those safety issues are addressed.
