After enduring 10 months of “Let’s go, Brandon” jokes, Democrats are recasting President Biden as a new and different Brandon, the kind who moves seamlessly between the halls of government and the Marvel universe.
The campaign to rebrand Senator Biden is underway. Dark Brandon, an all-powerful super-hero who steers Congress’ legislation through Congress with success, kills Ayman al Zawahri (al Qaeda leader) and fires lasers out of his eyes.
The White House is embracing the Brandon reboot. Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates tweeted “Dark Brandon is crushing it” after the Senate passed last weekend the sprawling $740 billion climate, tax and healthcare bill with no Republican votes.
White House Senior Advisor Neera Tanden, and Director of Digital Strategy Rob Flaherty responded to it by tweeting an image featuring Mr. Biden’s laser-red eyes.
“Dark Brandon stated that ‘here is the deal’, and then there was one,” tweeted Megan Apper (senior adviser to the State Department’s Bureau of Global Affairs).
Those who promote the theme of “Dark Brandon”, have revived cartoons showing a scary-looking and laser-eyed Mr. Biden. This image was created by Yang Quan, a Chinese illustrator, after the 2020 election.
The cartoon was retweeted and shared by Senator Chris Murphy (Conn. Democrat), who was interviewed about Dark Brandon on Monday’s CBS program “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert .”

The bid to improve Mr. Biden’s image and reclaim “Let’s go Brandon” from the left earned Ben Shapiro a compliment from the conservative commentator.
“You can try to Dark Brandon meme your way out of sub-40 approval ratings all you want, but throwing hundreds of billions at green boondoggles in the middle of an inflationary spiral isn’t going to turn things around,” tweeted Mr. Shapiro, referring to the bill dubbed the Inflation Reduction Act.
Mr. Shapiro said: “That being said, it’s quite funny .”

The phrase “Let’s go Brandon” was born after a NBC Sports reporter reported that fans chanting “fJoe Biden” at a NASCAR racing race last year were rooting for Brandon Brown. This inspired everything, from T-shirts to rap music.
Mr. Biden seemed to not be aware of the meaning behind this catchphrase. After a caller had used the catchphrase to sign off on their Christmas Eve conversation, Biden repeated it, “Let’s go Brandon, I agree.”
Democrats are hoping to win the support of the public through humorous politico-comic posts like “Dark Brandon is getting it done.” Republicans fight pronouns, and “We’re basking in No Malarkey
“The White House has started tweeting Dark Brandon memes,” said the Palmer Report. This is the best thing ever. It is so stupid, yet it takes the catchphrase of each side and makes Joe Biden a bigger-than-life hero. It will continue to be a strong force in the midterms !”
So far, the Republicans don’t feel Dark Brandon’s magic.

Republican National Committee took aim at White House officials who jumped on board the Dark Brandon train.
“Biden’s son, who is being investigated for laundering money from Chinese intelligence officers, uses Chinese propaganda to revel in the fact that they increased taxes in a recession, gave away billions for electric cars that depend on China, she stated. We are not surprised that a White House mid-level staffer didn’t find the problematic .”

It’s possible to turn around a bad political name. Two years ago, the Republicans made it happen with their acceptance of “Cocaine Mitch”, during Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reelection campaign.
In 2018, a West Virginia Republican used “Cocaine Mitch” in an attack ad based on a 2014 report in The Nation that 40 kilograms of cocaine were found on a cargo ship owned by the family of Mr. McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao.
The effort to link the drugs to Republican leader received “four Pinocchios from Washington Post fact-checker,” but McConnell campaign took on “Cocaine Mitch,” creating memes depicting him as an ironic gangster, and selling T-shirts with the “Team Mitch/Cartel member .”
Democratic foes tried to flip the script on Democrats by posting memes that showed the president struggling to get on his blazer after he left Marine One’s Monday tour through the Kentucky floods.
Conservative commentator Dana Loesch republished the video with the caption “DARK BRANDON .”
