As we previously reported, the latest number shows that inflation is down a bit. The inflation was 9.1 percent higher last month than this, but it is up 8.5% this month.
The drop in gasoline prices is likely to be a significant part of this.
An accurate account of what happened would be something similar to what Grabien’s Tom Elliott said here — that inflation is still incredibly crushing and there are troubling indicators.
A real media outlet would report: “America’s inflation crisis continued punishing American consumers in July, with the CPI remaining 17 percent and the government’s figure holding steady at 8.5 percent”

But, you may already know that liberal media members are trying to make it look like a win for Joe Biden.

Joe Biden isn’t just taking a win lap. He’s also falling into total falsehood about what he says now regarding the inflation number. His team are claiming that there is “zero inflation “ because the number didn’t rise as much last month.

Talk about total gaslighting. Even gaslighting can be too generous. It’s a simple lie. It’s not going to help people to do that knowing it’s a lie, and it will only make them more angry.
He claimed that the inflation number “underscores the kind of economy we’ve been building.” Yes, if you mean a messed up economy that still is crushing people — you did that.
It wasn’t just a slip by frequently confused Joe Biden — it’s now an unconscionable new talking point, with both White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre echoing the false claim and White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain going on a retweet storm of any posts that spread the lie.
It’s like when they said we should celebrate a fall in gas prices, even though the price is still much higher than it was before Biden arrived. They are telling us to forget all about reality and just listen to what they have.
