Pelosi’s Whopper of an Answer When Pressed on FBI Raid Explains the DC Swamp in a Nutshell

There have been a lot of things said by powerful Democrats in the aftermath of the brazen Monday raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home by the FBI, but perhaps none were more unintionally revealing than comments made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

During a Tuesday interview with “Today Show” co-host Savannah Guthrie, Pelosi was asked about the FBI’s actions and what she made of them. She claimed she didn’t know any more about the rationale behind it than what had already been reported by the mainstream media. But when she was asked in a follow-up question about House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) remarks urging DOJ Attorney General Merrick Garland to “preserve your documents and clear your calendar” for questioning should the GOP take back the House, it was then that Pelosi jumped on her high horse:

Pelosi said “whatever the leader is saying is probably idle,” adding she believes Democrats will win the House in the 2022 election, referencing the strides Democrats have made in recent days with the passage of the climate, tax and health care bill in the Senate.

“But nonetheless, we believe in the rule of law. That’s what our country is about,” Pelosi said. “And no person is above the law. Not even the president of the United States. Not even a former president of the United States.”

Oh really? Coulda fooled a lot of us.

I mean the way it looks right now is that Nancy and Paul Pelosi are above the law. Joe and Hunter Biden are above the law. Hillary and Bill Clinton are above the law (something of which Hillary Clinton is obviously very well aware). All of the late Jeffrey Epstein’s clients – whoever and wherever they are, because the authorities won’t say – are above the law, too, at least at this stage in the game.

There is also this:

If you walk into the Capitol on J6, you get solitary confinement.

If you burn down a city in a BLM shirt, your charges get dropped.

If you’re a parent, you get treated as a terrorist.

If you harass justices at their homes, nothing.

If you’re Donald Trump, you get raided.

Another important point to make here is that no one is suggesting Trump is above the law. If he has indeed done something wrong, let’s find out what it is and let the chips fall where they may. The problem here, though, is that the standards are never applied equally when it comes to Democrats committing wrongdoing versus Republicans allegedly doing so.

Back in 2004, failed (and disgraced) Democratic vice presidential nominee and former Sen. John Edwards (NC) soaringly coined a phrase about the disparities between the rich and everyone else, calling it “two Americas.” What he didn’t mention in that speech but what is perhaps even more prevalent than the “two Americas” theory is that there is a two-tiered justice system in America as far as politicians and other public figures are concerned.

There’s the one that lets Democrats off the hook for very serious violations of the public’s trust, and the one that throws the book at Republicans no matter how small the alleged offense.

Biden’s swamp creatures took aim at Donald Trump this week, and the blowback from Republicans has been understandably fierce. That’s what happens when the same political party keeps getting away with slaps on the wrist for doing very unprincipled and undemocratic things while their political opponents are falsely framed as dire threats to democracy or whatever for merely exercising their right to question election results.

The hornet’s nest has been kicked open by Democrats. They shouldn’t act too surprised if a few come back to sting them at the ballot box come the 2022 and 2024 elections.
