Trump Clean-Up Denial Sweeps Country

Commentary

It’s funny, but very predictable to observe the muted reaction to the clean-up of former President Donald Trump in the most recent primaries.

Trump impeacher Peter Meijer lost his Michigan congressional district. He then attacked Democrats for their childishly Machiavellian wheeze this election season in backing pro-Trump Republicans to the nominations, on the conjured hope that they would be more difficult to defeat than anti-Trump Republicans.

The pro-Trump nominee for Michigan governor was the charismatic and photographed Tudor Dixon. This seems to have given Gretchen Whitmer cause for concern. In the dismal gallery of Democratic governors of large states–among Gavin Newsom (California), Kathy Hochul (New York), Tom Wolf (Pennsylvania), Phil Murphy (New Jersey), and J.B. Pritzker (Illinois)–Whitmer seemed a bit of star, despite her abysmal hypocrisy and misplaced authoritarianism over COVID-19, and the FBI’s alleged efforts to stage a fake kidnap attempt upon her.

Tudor Dixon was dismissed as a “conspiracy theorist” by Trump-hating media. She believes there were millions upon millions of ballots harvested that could not be verified under the complexities of vote counting and voting alterations. This is a major problem for the legitimacy of the election results. These were just a few of the reasons Lake was vilified. Former Vice President Mike Pence also supported her main rival. Lake was elected in every Arizona county, while the Trump slate was elected to all Arizona offices. McCainland was treated to a crushing victory.

Even Washington state, which is considered ultraliberal, was home to the Seattle Summer Festival–a summer of love/complete chaos–two-years ago. The Green supporter Gov. Jay Inslee has provided a close call in Washington’s third congressional District, where Joe Kent (a Green Beret, and Goldstar) has tried to unseat Jaime Herrera Beutler. Herrera Beutler is a liberal Republican five terms who voted for impeaching the ex-president. As this is written, Beutler’s lead has been reduced to 257 votes with some thousands remaining to be counted. No matter what the result, Kent will win if Heidi St. John (pro-Trump) had not withdrawn as promised by Trump when she endorsed Kent.

For some time, political commentators who are usually supportive of Republicans but fiercely against Trump have focused their attention on encouraging Republican candidates not to pay any attention to Trump’s declining popularity or political significance.

The facts show that Trump was the most popular Florida governor. Ron DeSantis in the CPAC poll on the weekend in Dallas by 45 points. Trump’s endorsements were widely sought, and so far, 95 percent of incumbents whom he endorsed have been successful in their quest for renomination, and approximately 67 percent of those who were not incumbents have been successful.

This is an important barometer not only of former President’s popularity within the Republican Party, but also in the country. (As his critics repeatedly claim, very few Republican office-holders or seekers would risk their lives to save a man deeply despised and disregarded by the majority Americans). These primary results, which are capped off by the well-deserved and decisive defeat of Congresswoman Liz Cheney in Wyoming on Tuesday, represent a rejection of almost every attempt to force contemporary history to accept the fraudulent 2020 election result. There are large majorities in America for climate denial and election denial.

It is not a good idea to recite some of the confident forecasts of my friends from the Never Trumpers, to the effect Trump and his supporters were an iceberg. Readers will know these predictions and it’s a common mistake to believe what you want. More important, however is the fervent pretense by the Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell from Kentucky that it’s now up for grabs which party wins the Senate.

McConnell seemed very annoyed that Trump did not try to rescue the Senate seats from Georgia, and keep McConnell as Senate majority leader. McConnell appears unable to accept that the Trump Republican Party is pawning heavily on traditional Democratic fiefdoms, which include those of African Americans and Hispanic Americans as well as broad working-class voters. McConnell, along with his Never Trumpers, seems to not be consoled by the fact that Trump is repositioning Republican Party using traditional capitalism and the use of tax systems to encourage job-creating investments in economically disadvantaged regions. This strategy was successful in the two previous presidential elections and is clearly working today. It is unfortunate that Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina has endorsed the reelection by Alaskan Cheneyite Trump-hater Senator Lisa Murkowski. )

Trump couldn’t have asked for better. Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker (D-Calif.), showed leadership and raised some great points during her trip to the Far East. With the death of Al Qaeda leader Al Zawahiri, and passage of what is perhaps the most misunderstood legislative concept since FDR used pork barrel bills to call legislation that would improve the veterans’ status: the Inflation Reduction Act, President Joe Biden was also involved. Biden seems less ineffectual and Democrats have sign on to a bill which will cause a disaster.

Trump should be confirmed as presumptive president in the midterm elections within less than three months. He will have to make himself less scary to moderate voters than before. There can’t be any shame about him, as there was in 2016. He is a racist and sexist man, incompetent. A warmonger. And even an insane man in the service of hostile foreign powers. The lies about Russia and Charlottesville and Trump’s purported extremism have been disproven.

McConnell let Trump down with Obamacare and didn’t do anything to help him reelect. He also supported (second wave) impeachers in many states. And, of course, Chuck Schumer, his Democratic blunderbuss analog, was a complete outplayed. He might want to consider taking the same steps as Donald Trump and not just ruminating about it.
