“SanTui was a Chinese expression that means “Three Withdrawals” and was displayed on banners by Falun Gong supporters in Toronto. Similar parades took place in Montreal and Calgary.

The Three withdrawals refers to the withdrawal from the CCP and the Communist Youth League and China Young Pioneers. It aims to allow the Chinese to separate themselves from the CCP which has a long history of murder and deceit.

The movement began in 2004, sparked by the release of The Epoch Times book “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” which details the history of the CCP and their crimes against the Chinese people.

On Aug. 3, the date the 400 million milestone was reached, Rong Yi, president of the U.S.-based Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party, commended the “400 million brave Chinese” who severed their ties to the communist regime.

“The three withdrawals is China’s largest grassroots movement. The truth it exposes helps awakened hundreds of thousands of Chinese people,” Yi said at a press conference in Flushing, New York City.

An estimated 80 million Chinese people have died of unnatural causes due to the CCP’s various political campaigns since it took power in 1949, Yi said. The more recent campaigns she pointed to include Tiananmen Square in 1989, the ongoing persecution of adherents of the spiritual practice Falun Gong, the imprisonment of millions of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang and Tibet, and the crackdown on democracy in Hong Kong.

” The most important task for humanity is to disintegrate the CCP,” she stated. The Chinese people can only be free from the oppression of the CCP .

More events will be held in Canada throughout the month of August, including over 100 car parades that will take place in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.

A spokesperson at the Toronto event told The Epoch Times that the number of people disassociating themselves from the CCP and its affiliated organizations continues to grow by an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 per day.

Mina Comtreras (with her husband Wadelfoxelo), who were visiting Toronto to mark their marriage anniversary from Pennsylvania, stopped by the parade.

“[ We learned] pretty much everything the world knows about China, that it is communist and that a lot needs to change,” Mina stated.

“It is really sad,” she said, after hearing of the persecution campaign by the CCP against Chinese citizens.

Survivor of CCP Persecution

Cathy Lin is a former university teacher hailing from China’s Shandong Province who now lives in Toronto. She said that the CCP has been making propaganda against the Chinese people and that the Three Withdrawals movement allows them to step back and see for themselves.

Lin joined the thousands of students who gathered on Tiananmen Square in Beijing in June 1989 to call for democracy. However, she was not present at the student massacre and believes that state propaganda made it seem unlikely.

” I grew up with the propaganda of the CCP, and… had blind faith in it,” she said to The Epoch Times.

” When I first heard the news that the military had opened fire on students, I was skeptical. My father, a military veteran, also believed the story. I thought, “How could the military open fire upon the students?” It was shocking that we did not have .”

.

In 1995, Lin began practicing Falun Gong, known as Falun Dafa, a traditional Chinese practice that involves meditative exercises and moral teachings based on the tenets of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.” Made public in 1992, the practice had 70 million to 100 million adherents in China by the late 1990s. Such popularity was perceived by the CCP as a threat to its authoritarian rule, and on July 20, 1999, the regime launched a far-reaching persecution campaign aimed at eradicating Falun Gong.

In October 2000, Lin was arrested when she went to Beijing’s National Petition Bureau to urge the government to end its persecution campaign and allow Falun Gong adherents to practise freely. In the next year, she was sentenced for three years. She was also sent to prison several times with her husband.

” During these times my children would discover that both of their parents had died suddenly. Lin stated that their grandparents cared for them but they wouldn’t ask mom or dad where they were because it would make their grandparents unhappy.”

” The persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP finally brought me to my senses,” she said. After all that we have been through, our family is really supporting this effort to stop the CCP .”

.

Lin fled to Canada in 2013. According to her, the Three Withdrawals Movement is important for Chinese citizens living in Canada.

” The reason we continue to clarify the truth for the Chinese people it to those kind people who can think critically a chance of dissociating from the CCP,” she stated.

” The greatest goal of this [movement] is to make more people understand the evil nature and morality of the regime .”
