MSNBC host Joy Reid and a panel on her show obsessed over Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban Thursday evening in the wake of Orban’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
“It’s obviously more convenient in some sense to Orban-ize the party rather than Putin-ize it,” Reid said, noting that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine made Russian President Vladimir Putin “objectionable.”

“Orban talked in 2018 about the access of the willing,” Rula Jebreal, a Palestinian foreign policy analyst, said. Trump, Orban and Salvini were all in Italy. There’s a real ideology of common values, anti-immigration, trying to use the powers and tools of democracy to try to destroy it from within.”
Jebreal went on to claim that Orban inspired a July 29 attack that killed an immigrant from Nigeria in Italy. Others criticized Orban for being a racist.

Jolly stated that Orban said that the American press would report on a racist leader addressing American conservatives. He was correct because his policies were racist The same group that supported Viktor Orban is also the one giving fuel and currency to Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump.”

A Princeton professor said that Orban’s policies regarding border security were adopted later by Trump. Kim Lane Scheppele stated Orban had built a wall long before Trump did. He pushed people across the wall. He divided parents and children. He did the same thing in 2015 that Trump later used. He has served as a role model to Republican efforts in border .”
Scheppele claimed there were many ties between Orban’s circles and Trump’s former president.

Not only did he call Orban Trump Trump before Trump but he also created them both in many ways. A pair of Republican geniuses engineered Orban’s huge electoral win in 2010.
