Jonathan Turley Takes Liz Cheney Claims J6 Committee has ‘Much more’

The January 6 Committee promised that from the beginning of the hearings, they would present the evidence necessary to bring down President Donald Trump. As anyone will tell, they have produced bad TV that many people avoid because it is biased. However, after nine hearings they failed to produce evidence supporting criminal charges according George Washington law school Professor Jonathan Turley . He notes that even Heidi Heitkamp, a former senator and prosecutor, thought it was “very difficult” to obtain a legal indictment.

Instead, we have a witch-hunt “show trial”, with controlled Democratic efforts, and only Democratic-appointed Trump-hating members on the Committee. We don’t have any ability to refute the carefully constructed narrative about Trump. They have yet to produce evidence of any crimes.

As Turley points out:

As if to fulfill that show trial portrayal, Cheney ended the last hearing by calling for more officials to come forward and noting that Trump family members and former officials have now come forward with their own public “confessions.”

But, now Rep. Liz Cheney (R.WY), who is soon to become the former Wyoming Congresswoman, has pulled an “Adam Schiff,” and promises that more will come just like he did in the Russia collusion case.

” The committee was thorough in laying out much that we have learned. We have much more to share at hearings and expect that we will in the fall. We will make criminal referral decisions. The Justice Department will ultimately decide about prosecutions. However, I believe the committee will be able to give its opinion.” […. ]

A lack of balance in examinations and evidence presentation only amplifies the impression of an investigation that is more political than it is investigative.

Now Cheney says “stay tuned” again, like a movie that will never end.

Who would’ve thought it? They will pretend that there is something, and keep it in suspense to see if anyone falls for it. Turley points out that this timing also indicates the political nature.

But, if they had anything that was strong enough to stand on its own, everybody knows that they would already have dropped it. Cheney and his Committee made it clear that they want to prevent Trump’s re-election. This is the whole point of this exercise. In the new advertisement Liz released for her campaign, Dick Cheney acknowledged it. To try and hurt Trump, this is all about trying to drag out the sorry story as long as possible.

However, people aren’t abandoning Trump — in fact, Harris is leading Biden and Harris according to the Harvard Caps/Harris poll released this week.
