I mentioned walking the talk in the Moore to the Point comment, referring back to Teddy Roosevelt’s “Big Stick Diplomacy.” This is a great measure of leadership. At least those who are more successful than politicians excel in talking the talk. Problem is that, most of the time, those promises don’t lead to concrete results. Often, empty promises are made and the failures can be easily attributed to political opponents or circumstances outside their control. It is rare for elected officials to risk their re-election even for the principles that they hold dear.

This was demonstrated again by DeSantis Thursday morning when he announced that he would suspend a George-Soros-funded State Attorney who refused to enforce Florida’s laws regarding abortion restrictions and child sex-reassignment surgery.

Noting Florida’s constitution gives the governor veto power, DeSantis stated: “We will not allow this pathogen to ignore the law get foothold in Florida .”

That’s leadership, folks. We hope that more Republicans elected to office will adopt this template.
