Gosh! The governor of New York has declared an emergency in public health due to monkeypox. Excerpt:

Gov. Kathy Hochul declared an emergency because monkeypox cases continued to rise in New York.

The outbreak has been concentrated in New York City and reached close to 1,400 cases across the state on Friday, according to the governor’s disaster declaration. The executive order gives state agencies the authority to assist localities in responding to this outbreak. State officials claim that it expands the number of individuals who can administer vaccines by adding pharmacists, emergency workers, and midwives. It makes it simpler for doctors and nurses to administer shots. It also requires that providers send data about vaccines to the New York State Department of Health.

The governor said on Twitter that it would allow the state “to respond more swiftly” to the outbreak.

Does that mean the state is planning on shutting down sites where gay men — 98 percent of monkeypox victims so far — gather for sex, given that it has been mostly a sexually transmitted disease? Are you a racist?

Scott Gottlieb, former FDA commissioner, writes in the NYT that monkeypox is about to become another huge public health failure. Although his reasons are solid, he doesn’t mention once that authorities could quickly and effectively address the issue by closing down gay clubs. Gay men can’t fail, they cannot be stopped by government agencies.

In one month, New Orleans will host the annual Southern Decadence Festival. From the New Orleans daily paper:

Even as Louisiana receives thousands of doses of the monkeypox vaccines, officials say it’s likely not enough to ward off further spread of infection with the approach of the Southern Decadence Festival, the annual LGBTQ celebration that typically draws 250,000 people to the French Quarter over Labor Day weekend.

The state was allotted an additional 7,200 vaccines on Friday in addition to over 2,000 already shipped by the government. That’s enough to vaccinate about 4,600 people, considering every person requires two shots. It leaves many people still needing to be vaccinated, particularly ahead of festivals that fill the bars, streets and clubs.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards should ban the festival in this year’s honor for public health reasons. Gov. Edwards oversaw a Covid response that shut down all kinds of public events out of fear of Covid spread — including Southern Decadence, in both 2020 and 2021. Although it was an economic disaster for New Orleans, public health always came first. Given how horrible monkeypox has become and the speed at which it spreads, why wouldn’t the Democratic governor close down this mega-festival for gay men? What do you mean, other than the fear of being labeled a bigot?

The Baton Rouge friend who told me this story said:

So they can shut down Mardi Gras for a couple of years, but not the Decadence festival? If it spreads outside the LGBT community, what happens? Is it possible for it to spread into BR, and then my children get it. This a public emergency?

We are learning what it is to be gay and male. You have seen the messages from American institutions and the mainstream media over the last ten years, so you are aware that LGBTs do not look like us. They are superior and have the right to not follow rules. They cannot fail; they are only capable of failing.

Take this NYT story about a male-to-female transgender murderer who declared he was a woman at some point after doing prison time for killing two women, and who is now on trial for killing another woman after his release. According to state records, this man has been a victim of domestic violence for many years. Excerpts:

The person before the parole panel in June 2019 was tall and slim, in far better shape than 81 years of life might have suggested. Mild and polite, the supplicant seemed nothing like the murderer who had spent decades in prison, first for shooting a girlfriend dead in 1963, and then for stabbing another in 1985, stuffing her corpse into a bag and leaving it in Central Park. The inmate stated to the parole board commissioners that she was no longer the same person. They decided to release Marceline Harvey, despite their reservations.

Two and a half years after leaving Cayuga Correctional Facility, Marceline Harvey was accused again, charged with killing Susan Leyden, 68. Parts of Ms. Leyden’s body were found in March inside a shopping cart in East New York, stuffed in a bag. Investigators discovered a mop with blood, towels, and an electric saw box in Ms. Harvey’s home.

Here is the part about money:

A homeless shelter worker and people close to Ms. Leyden questioned whether, despite her gender identity, Ms. Harvey should have been placed in a homeless shelter for women, given her history of attacking and murdering them. Speaking from Rikers to The New York Post, Ms. Harvey referred to herself as having two personas: one, a violent male named Harvey Marcelin — the name she used for most of her life and is included in court records — and the other, a soft-spoken woman named Marceline Harvey.

But transgender people are far more likely to become victims of violence, not perpetrators, and data from the National Center for Transgender Equality suggests more than half of transgender people who stay in shelters encounter harassment.

See?

See? A story cannot just stand on its own; media outlets like the Times have to police the public for wrongthink.

If monkeypox is made a chronic disease in America, especially if it reaches the general public, because there were too many gay men who couldn’t hold their pants and the authorities weren’t brave enough to close down gay sex events and clubs, Pride will be an expensive thing.

I swear, you can get monkeypox just by going to church. Biden and Fauci are sending in National Guard members to close the doors to houses of worship, much like the Chinese did in Covid with Wuhan apartments.

UPDATE: Going to the fetish festival in San Francisco on Sunday? They should not shut down the festival because of the terrible epidemic among men who have had sex with women. Here’s some advice from the San Francisco AIDS Foundation on how to navigate the festival. Excerpts:
