Biden is required to take a cognitive test by more than 50 members of Congress. But what if he fails?

Does Joe Biden need a cognitive test? It’s possible to share this belief with Dr. Ronny, a White House doctor during Trump and Obama years.

Now a Republican representative for Texas’s 13th district, Dr. Ronny has helmed a letter petitioning the President to get tested.

Posted Wednesday, this letter opens as follows:

Dear President Biden ,

We are writing again to raise concerns about your cognitive condition and urge you to take a cognitive assessment immediately. All Presidents, no matter their gender or age, should be able to demonstrate and document sound mental abilities. While you underwent your annual physical exam on November 19, 2021, you either did not face a cognitive test or those results were withheld from the public. Kevin O’Connor (White House Physician) attested that you were “fit to succeed in the duties of Presidency”. However, we remain concerned about your mental capabilities.

As noted in the petition members of Congress sent two additional such letters since Joe’s inauguration. Neither received a reply.

And while time ticks, Americans continue to lose faith in the President’s capacity to “effectively and competently handle [his] duties as President of the United States.”

The letter points Biden at recent polling data

• 66 percent of voters believe that you should take a cognitive test.
• 56 percent of voters are not confident that you are physically and mentally fit for your duties as President, representing a 29-point change from October 2020.
• 64 percent of voters believe you have shown signs that you are too old to execute the duties of the President of the United States, including 60% of respondents aged 65 and older.
• Only 33 percent of voters approve of the job that you have done as President.

Dr. Ronny notes Joe has “brushed aside” previous pleas for partisanship.

But:

[T]The left-leaning New York Times published a detailed article that explains all this. The increased attention on your cognitive status has resulted from your public appearances in recent weeks. During which time you often stumble when walking, lose your track of thought and have difficulty summoning names, you appear to be momentarily confused.

All of these were exemplified by your recent Middle East trip, in which you stated that it was important to “keep alive truth and honor about the Holocaust,” as well as other statements.

The letter recounts additional incidents that “are extremely concerning” and which “cast doubt” on Biden’s abilities to serve in this position.

Joe certainly has shown that he is aberrated. However, it’s not something that was first noticed after the election. He has performed as many expected. What we see now with Commander-in Chief, surely his handlers – and perhaps even he — expected.

Bottom Line: This was the first time we went in with wide-open eyes.

Will the President take a test? This seems unlikely. It is also certain that any modern government would not release negative information if the test fails. Critics wouldn’t believe positive results if they were.

Even so, a whole lot of legislators are on board with the letter: Per Fox News, 54 House Republicans have signed it. That’s 13 more signatures than graced the one in June of 2021, and 27 more compared to last February’s attempt.

Biden could fail to pass a cognitive assessment and lose his office. However, this may not bring about an age of oratory ascendance.
