Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y .,) was attacked at a Perinton, New York, gubernatorial campaign stop on Thursday night. An individual is alleged to have pulled out a sharp item.
Zeldin gave a speech at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Event about bail reform. A man then allegedly got up on the stage and “wrestled” with him, according to witnesses who talked with Rochester First .
According to the report, Joe Chenelly was able to take down an individual who tried to attack Zeldin.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office informed Fox News it was aware of an incident that occurred during Zeldin’s speech this evening. Major Crimes investigators are currently investigating the case. A suspect has been taken into custody. We will update as further information becomes available.”
The NY Post reported that “[a] witness was with Zeldin and said the candidate wasn’t hurt” (WROC-TV). .”
