Exclusive: Rep. Louie Gohmert Requires Cassidy Hutchinson to Testify as the Jan 6 Committee Charges Him with Lying

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-TX, sent a request to the January 6 Committee members, asking them to release Cassidy Hutchinson’s full transcript and video. Gohmert claimed that the committee had accused him of “malicious lying,” Breitbart News exclusively learned.

Gohmert wrote the letter to Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-MS (chair of January 6 Committee), and Rep. Liz Cheney, R-WY (vice chair).

The Texas conservative claimed he made the demand due to “flatly incorrect, malicious lies presented by Your committee, accusing me, other Members of Congress, of asking President Trump, and certain members, for pardons,” Gohmert wrote and stated previously that he had never requested a pardon and that he hadn’t done anything “to necessitate one .”

“I did ask for pardons for deserving military members, former military, and one civilian late in 2020 in writer letters and packages of information,” Gohmert elaborated.

Gohmert stated that “overtly and seriously serious problems” remain in the handling of the Hutchinson witness by the January 6th committee:

As multiple media outlets have reported, the Secret Service agent and driver implicated in Ms. Hutchinson’s testimony deny the accuracy of her account. This discrepancy directly affects the credibility of both the witness as well as the Committee. It also raises questions about the biased and selective manner that the Committee gave testimony to the American people. You know that hearingsay, which is not reliable, isn’t allowed in courtrooms. You chose to believe the unverifiable testimony rather than the more trustworthy, direct and live testimony of the Secret Service Agents.

Also, after reviewing the testimony of Ms. Hutchinson, it is clear that the deposition was edited in a way to appear as though the pardons she lawfully requested for people deserving were actually for her. This deception, and the fabrication of headlines that it creates, is at best, unethical and immoral. It is possible that the video was made in perjury.

Hutchinson allegedly also falsified pieces of testimony she gave about conversations with Pat Cipollone, former White House Counsel.

The New York Times reported that the January 6 committee avoided asking Cipollone questions about what Hutchinson said last month that she heard him say during the January 6 protests and riots.

“By not asking Cipollone for confirmation or denial of sensational statements that were attributed to him, such as the suggestion that Trump officials might be charged with ‘every crime imaginable’ because they went to the Capitol during the Riot — they avoided contradicting Her,” Breitbart News’s Joel Pollak said.

Gohmert stated that, if the January 6, committee does not release Hutchinson’s full testimony and video transcript, then “you are admitting you condoned the commission of a lie.” The evidence that you refuse to release is almost certainly against the allegations and impression that was made .”

” I look forward to you releasing the entire, raw, and unmodified video as well as the transcript from Ms. Hutchinson’s deposition. Gohmert stated in his letter that they requested the American people to review the items immediately for truth, decency and propriety.
