ABC News propagated Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY’s) false propaganda by sharing photos that showed her and Rep. Ilhan Omar being held hostage by the police.
A viral video showed that two Congresswomen held their hands behind their backs while they were being taken by police from an anti-abortion demonstration in front of Supreme Court. AOC’s “miraculously”, disappeared at one point so that she could raise a power symbol.

Obviously, no one would have known this, if they had only gotten their information from ABC News. They showed Ilhan Omar and AOC from an entirely different angle to give the impression that Ilhan Omar were being taken away in handcuffs from a pro-abortion demonstration.

ABC News mentioned that no handcuffs had been seen in the report several times.
Seventeen lawmakers in total were arrested, according to Capitol Police, including Reps. Katherine Clark of Massachusetts, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Illinois’ Jan Schakowsky. According to police, the charge against them was incommoding, blocking or crowding.
Officers from the Supreme Court informed the demonstrators that they were taking part in illegal demonstration activity. They advised anyone not wanting to be arrested to leave. This sparked singing, chanting and dancing by the crowd.
Officers began to arrest the protestors, but no handcuffs were observed. The police also took photos of all those taken, including some lawmakers. They brought water to the area to give to protesters.
Which is obvious, but conservative Twitter didn’t let ABC News get away with its selection of photo:
ABC cannot use these photos.
AOC, and Ilhan Omar PRETEND to be handcuffed. https://t.co/bWgegzAYZH

This is a total fucking lie. These photos have angles to look as if they’re cuffed.
They wonder why they are called fake news.

Now show us the photos from the side showing that there aren’t handcuffs. You are not being humiliated!

Fake News. They weren’t handcuffed. Jut led them away calmly, with the two of them having a lot of fun and laughing.

The pic selection is an editorial choice by those who are performingatively wondering why trust is declining in media. https://t.co/F27NMBXINC

ABC News fabricates that they have been arrested. They show photos showing them handcuffed, when in fact they’re not. Mission completed. https://t.co/ncVwGVPpIz

There are political stunts…then there’s pretending to get handcuffed for this exact picture https://t.co/JWy4XbAEqr
