Does anyone know what a lady is?
Do you know what a woman is? If yes, then you are a lot ahead of the Church of England.
During the General Synod ,, Senior Bishop Robert Innes was asked by Adam Kendry. To clear up any confusion:
“What is the Church of England’s definition of a woman?”
It turns out that church officials had made merely assumptions in the past. The question isn’t so easy anymore.
Courtesy The Telegraph , The bishop’s written reply:
“There is no official definition, which reflects the fact that until fairly recently definitions of this kind were thought to be self-evident, as reflected in the marriage liturgy.”
He referred to the new “complexities associated gender identity.” “Additional care” should be taken.
The minister’s comment is not surprising. The church has taken great strides in catching up to the culture’s most awakened ways.

Returning To Rev Robert, he received some bad reviews within the Church.
As reported to The Telegraph , Rev Angela Berners Wilson, England’s first woman priest — wasn’t happy with her life:
” I’m not completely happy with this. I mean, I do think certain things like men can’t have babies, just to say the complete obvious thing.”
“[I] think we need to be very sensitive, and maybe we need to reexamine our boundaries.”
The head of a biology-based organization offered more critical commentary:
Maya Forstater was the executive director for the Sex Matters campaign group. She described the bishop’s response as “shocking” and said that the “concepts of male or female didn’t need to be given a formal definition because they are more ancient than human life.”
Calvin Robinson, political commentator and Free Church of England deacon, had this to say:
” The definition of “woman” isn’t a complicated moral issue. This is both a biblical and scientific truth. How can you trust someone who cannot speak the truth about such basic facts?”
More of this type of trust is likely to be needed soon. The Church of England continues its evolution. A former leader has recently fought for transgenderism.
From The Christian Institute April:
The former Archbishop and Cardinal of Canterbury Rowan Williams claimed that being transgender was a “sacred journey to becoming whole.” He called on the government for gender confusion to be addressed in its ban against conversion therapy.
Last Wednesday, the government indicated that it would scrap its ban but, after backlash by LGBT activists, U-turned within hours. The government agreed to keep using a legislative approach, but it said that this would not be applicable to people experiencing gender confusion.
Lord Williams, who was Archbishop of Canterbury between 2003 and 2012, signed a letter to the Prime Minister written by LGBT activist Steve Chalke. The two men argued that a ban on conversion therapy must be not limited to lesbians, gays, and bisexuals, but should also cover those who are transgender.
What’s the next step for institutionalized Christianity in America? One need not look at social evolution in order to be certain.
Meanwhile, across 165 countries, the Church of England has a reported membership of more than 85 million.
Presumably, at least 45 million of those cannot be conclusively defined.
