Kevin Spacey pleads guilty to U.K. charges of sexual assault

LONDON, (AP) — Oscar winner actor Kevin Spacey has pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges against three men more than a decade ago.

Spacey, 62, spoke clearly as he denied five charges during a hearing at London’s Central Criminal Court.

Judge Mark Wall established a June 6th 2023, date for the trial and stated that it would take three to four weeks.

The former star of “House of Cards”, who managed London’s Old Vic theatre between 2004 & 2015,, has denied the following: four counts of sexual assault; one count of permitting a person to engage with penetrative sexual activities without their consent.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred in London in March 2005, August 2008,, and in Western England in April 2013.. The victims are now in their 30s and 40s.

Space lawyer said that the actor had “strenuously denied” these allegations.

Spacey received bail, and was allowed to leave the United States for a preliminary hearing.

Spacey was awarded a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for “The Usual Suspects,” and an Oscar as a Lead Actor for “American Beauty .”

But his celebrated career came to an abrupt halt in 2017 when actor Anthony Rapp accused the star of assaulting him at a party in the 1980s, when Rapp was a teenager. Spacey denied the accusations.
