Elon Musk Gloriously Manages to Take Ownership of MSNBC for a Brief Moment (Sort Of)

Though the Twitter/Elon Musk deal has blown up, with the Big Tech giant preparing to take the billionaire investor to court after he backed out of an agreement to buy them, Musk is still making his presence known on the popular social media platform, and on Wednesday managed to oh so briefly and gloriously even take ownership of MSNBC in the process.

Like many on social media, Musk is fond of sharing memes, and earlier in the day shared one of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, who we’ve learned over the years has a serious drug and prostitute addiction problem – and just so happens to enjoy filming his exploits “in the process,” if you catch my meaning.

Here’s what Musk posted to Twitter:

“Gives whole new meaning to Go Pros!” he added in a subsequent tweet.

Musk making jokes at Hunter Biden’s expense didn’t seem to sit well with New Tone hall monitor Stephanie Ruhle, otherwise known as anchor of MSNBC’s “11th Hour” commentary program.

Ruhle responded to the tweet by suggesting in so many words that Musk could do so much more good in the world if he would lay off picking on the President’s son, who also happens to have a penchant for engaging in questionable overseas business dealings that have reportedly netted him and his family millions of dollars while raising the big issue of influence peddling in the process:

Imagine the positive impact you could have on the world if you used the extraordinary amount of influence and power you have to spread decency, kindness and positivity?

It took just five words for Musk to completely own the network, if only for an agonizingly short time:

Imagine if MSNBC did that

Ouch!

Ruhle then lamely responded by falsely claiming her show did just that (it doesn’t), and then invited him on but he’s yet to respond as of this writing – probably because his point has been made.

Indeed, not a single media figure at MSNBC has the moral standing to lecture (subtly or otherwise) anyone anywhere at anytime about the supposed need to use your position of power to try and inject positive change in the world. The abject toxicity of Joy Reid’s show alone is Exhibit A, B, C and D that MSNBC on-air talent on the opinon/commentary side has no business pretending they have the high ground when it comes to matters of civility, constructivity and “higher purpose.”

Fortunately for us, it would appear that most people in America have figured that out as Reid’s ratings (along with those of her more incendiary colleagues on the struggling “news” network) continue to crash and burn.

Maybe one day Ruhle will figure that out, too, but I’m not counting on it. As long as she stays at MSNBC and continues to host guests who posit wacko conspiracy theories, she’s part of the very problem she claims she wants to solve (incivility in the public discourse). End of story.
