Tenney: Abe’s death, weak policies like selling SPR oil to China leave a void in Indo-Pacific

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), stated that the Indo-Pacific has a “void”, with Shinzo Abe’s leadership gone and an ineffective American foreign policy.

Tenney stated, [relevant remarks begin around 2: 00] “We had a strong — even though he wasn’t currently in office, his legacy was strong. His leadership brought Japan a positive form of nationalism. We have an Indo-Pacific void and that will be problematic with a President who shows so much weakness in China. We’re still reeling from learning that President Biden took one million barrels out of his strategic oil reserves and sold them to China just days or so ago. There is evidence to suggest that it could have been linked to the scandal-ridden son of President Biden. It is concerning. It is a concern for the Japanese, I think.
