Miss Tax the Rich Allows Fines to Build Up over Unpaid Tax Warrants

Democrat lovebird and New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez believes the rich should be slapped with more taxes.

It would seem that AOC does not believe the rules should be applied to her. This is quite common for modern leftists.

According to the Washington Examiner, AOC used to have a business in 2012 called the “Brook Avenue Press” which focused on publishing children’s books. According to state records, New York dissolved Brook Avenue Press in 2016 thanks to the business going belly up. Despite the venture dissolving, AOC never paid the corporate taxes, causing New York to file a tax warrant in July 2017, just two months after she launched her primary campaign against Rep. Joe Crowley. According to documents, she owed $1,618.

The total has now swelled by 52 percent to $2,461 as of Wednesday. According to the Bronx County Clerk’s Office, the warrant is still open as confirmed by the Examiner.

AOC’s office has previously said this matter is being contested, but this was back in 2020. It’s still unclear if it is being litigated, but the New York Congresswoman does not lack the funds to make it pay. She’s one the most wealthy people in America. The Examiner reveals that AOC has earned more than half a million dollars in her time in office.

She also lives in an expensive DC apartment and drives her Tesla. She illegally parks the Tesla at Whole Foods, which is located within walking distance from her DC apartment. Any person who can afford all of that will likely balk at a measly $2461. She also seems very passionate about taxes. This is the same woman who wore a “tax the rich” dress and created the “Green New Deal” policy that would require taxes to be jacked up as high as 70 percent.

If AOC really believes that taxes are the only way to improve society, why doesn’t she have to pay her taxes? Is she contesting the taxes? Are you saying she is claiming that the government tried to take that money away from her in error? Is it really so important for her to keep that money?
