Trump looking to jump in early for 2024: Report

Former President Donald Trump may be considering an earlier entry into the 2024 White House Race to get back the spotlight and prove that his Jan. 6 investigation is political motivated.

Mr. Trump may make an official announcement in the next month according to The New York Times.

Jumping in to the race mid -2022 is unusual. Candidates usually wait until the previous year. This would put GOP divisions out front while Republicans try to win big mid-term victories.

Republicans will focus this election on their pockets and President Biden’s inability in reining in inflation.

If Mr. Trump enters, Democrats would have a powerful target against which to campaign and one that will animate left-leaning voters.

Trump’s possible bid could also be seen as an attempt to jail the Florida governor. Ron DeSantis is becoming a nationally recognized 2024 GOP candidate.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (South Carolina Republican) said that Mr. Trump would benefit from an early bid to draw attention to his policies and to provide contrast to the stumbles of Mr. Biden.

Some Republicans seem ready to let Trump go, especially after the string of shocking revelations made by the hearings held by the panel that investigated the attack on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6 2021,.

Trump describes the committee as an unbalanced witch hunt. However, there is talk about criminal charges.

” To assume that conservative America is 100% ahead of Donald Trump’s is just not true,” Dave Van Wyk from Iowa told The Associated Press. Van Wyk is a transport company owner.

A Trump victory in the GOP primaries would open up a rematch against Mr. Biden. However, some Democrats believe that Mr. Biden should step down due to his declining approval ratings and advanced age.

A Harris Poll and Harvard Center for American Political Studies found that voters don’t like Mr. Biden, Mr. Trump.

Seven out of the 10 polled believed Mr. Biden shouldn’t seek another term, while six 10 respondents said that they didn’t think Mr. Trump should run for a second term.
