Police: Highland Park Suspect is Young White Male. He fired a Rifle at Parade From Roof

Police want to speak with a white man who they claim set fire to a roof Monday during the July 4th Parade in Chicago.

Breitbart News reported at least six were killed and 24 injured in the incident.

NBC Chicago noted that shots rang out at 10: 14 a.m. in Chicago’s Highland Park neighborhood.

Police are seeking “a white man between 18 and 20 years old with a small build and longer black hair.”

Lake County Sheriff Sergeant. Christopher Covelli stated that the suspect entered the parade via a roof.

Covelli said, “We ask everyone to stay inside. Be vigilant. The identity of this person is not known. This appears to be entirely random .”

Miles Zaremski, a Highland Park resident was quoted by The Chicago Sun-Times. “I heard 20 to 25 shots, which were in rapid succession,” Zarenski said. Zarenski said that it could not have been a simple handgun or shotgun

Parade-goer Alexander Sandoval stated, “We saw Navy’s marchers pass by and, when the gunshots first started, I assumed it was them saluting our flag and firing blanks. The shots continued, but then I noticed people running and saw more. We started running.”
