A 20-year veteran of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) celebrated his recent retirement by criticizing the agency.
Thomas Gambardella shared a photo online of himself flipping off a police memorial while wearing a blue t-shirt that said, “Let’s Go, Brandon,” the New York Post reported Saturday.

“I am officially retiring today,” he wrote in a post. From this awful job. Thanks to God, I am free !…. I love everyone who I have worked with as well as’some’ people that I’ve worked alongside. This job is not for everyone. There is no time to be idle. Let’s go !”

The former detective sergeant enjoyed the job at the start, but it fell apart due to the soft-on crime policies of the city.
“Crime has soared and cops have fled in droves,” Gambardella said to the Post . Anyone can see it. This liberalism is clearly a failure. This is exactly what they desired. This is a foolish experiment, and the people will be the ones who pay .”

Meanwhile, over 1,500 of the city’s officers had either stepped down or retired so far in 2022, the Post recently reported.
” The city is in chaos, especially after bail reform,” stated a former Queens officer. He said it was a matter of getting out while it’s still possible.
But Eric Adams, the New York City Mayor (D), claimed that he doesn’t worry about NYPD officers being forced to leave.
Adams stated, “New York City Department” is an incredible career. It’s something I have experienced firsthand. Young men and women will be looking to join the best .”

“Let’s go Brandon” was replaced by “Fuck Joe Biden” chants when a reporter reported that the crowd at NASCAR races were shouting “Let’s go Brandon” rather than the original chant.
